I can’t rave about this business enough. Two years ago I shot my first alligator and I really wanted to have the hide made into a pair of quality boots that I could keep for the rest of my life. Finding the right boot maker was seeming to be a difficult task because I wasn’t sure all of the right questions to ask and I knew it was going to be an investment. I had met Austin a few years prior at a BBQ certification and had no clue he had gotten involved into the boot business. We started chatting at a food festival and he suggested I check their place out. When I stepped into Tejas Boots they were exactly what I was looking for! They welcomed me in and chat with me for over two hours about exactly what I wanted, they sat around and talked life, laughter and food with me and all around just made me feel like family. Chris went above and beyond to explain to me why he was doing certain things, what type of sole he was using and how it would help the boot to last longer. To be specific, if you are a boot connoisseur, He used a high grade leather sole with a sole protector. Also, I had recently sprained my ankle, so he made sure to tell me that we could adjust the measurements if my ankle’s inflammation reduced. They honestly went above and beyond. I walked in with the hide I wanted to use, with the exact look of the boot I wanted and I can tell you, they could’ve have come out more perfect. I can’t recommend Tejas enough. I had a pair of rare boots that my father would no longer wear and that can longer be found. I had no clue how I could get these boots customized to my size and to the way I like to wear boots. I looked up several different boot makers and came across Tejas Custom Boots. I reached out to Chris Ligget to see if he could do the job I was looking for and he said sure, no problem. I met up with Chris one day to hand my boots off and for him to get my measurements.

Chris is very professional and pays close attention to detail. There were several modifications that I wanted done to the boots, for instance, squaring the toe off and lowering the heel a bit, he advised that he felt it could be done and if not that he would call before tearing the boot down. He called or texted several times throughout the duration to let me know that he hadn't forgot about me and assured he was working on the boots. Communication is key, and he nailed it. I received a call that my boots were complete in less time than what he originally quoted me.

I am very pleased with job that was done and absolutely love being able to wear the boots my father happen to buy 44 years old, a year after I was born. I highly recommend Tejas Custom Boot Company for all your boot needs.

I ordered some gator-skin boots in April 2019. From the beginning they warned me that boots were taking about about 6 months to complete (I believe they have sped that up quite a bit). But when it came time to get my boots, they were not exactly as I had asked. They looked great and fit great, they just were missing a particular customization that I wanted.

As it turns out, there was a miscommunication and the custom item I wanted was not available. Because of the miscommunication, I was very disappointed. I must say, that my boots are still beautiful.

In order to make up for the mistake, Tejas made me another pair and were able to get some customization close to what I wanted. Now I have two beautiful pair of boots and I am a very happy and satisfied customer.
