So I went to the Joint on Tuesday evening October 30, 2018 to which I was directly discriminated against simply because of my sexual orientation. I walked in scanned my card and requested Dr. Cheyenne because he adjusted me the week before and apparently seen the rainbow tattoo on my wrist discovering I am gay. They tell me to go to table two so I removed everything out of my pockets the Dr. walks out of the office, looks at me, then turns right back into the office. Then another Dr approaches me saying he was going to adjust me instead and I declined because I don't feel that well adjusted when he is finished with me. So I decided to leave after being refused from the Dr. I requested then I started thinking and came back around asking why. The receptionist said he has done it before and they have talked to him about it. I was going to cancel my subscription and then said never mind I will bring it to upper managements attention. So I talk to Susie Higgins and she said she would investigate it and that I wasnt refused service because the other Dr. was willing to adjust me just Dr. Cheyenne didn't want to for personal reasons and she didn't want to say what the personal reasons were. I had to drive to a different location just to receive an appropriate adjustment and get out of their hostile environment. Dr. Cheyenne was going to adjust me until he looked at me and them he all of a sudden had personal reasons. I have been a customer of The Joint for well over a year and I have never had an issue until they hired a new prejudice doctor in the last couple months. They have had zero problems taking my money until I brought to their attention about this issue. As long as you don't call them out on their hate then they will have no problem taking your money. Susie's response was to agree to disagree and she did offer to add a couple of visits to my account, but how does adding more of something I already pay for every month fix the issue. I already get 4 visits a month why would I need additional visits. I don't understand how a business in such a diverse city is going to deny service and claim it was for...
Read moreI have resisted getting a chiropractic adjustment for years because I didn't really trust someone to crack my back. One of my closest friends is a Joint devotee and encouraged me to try them for a lower back issue that muscle relaxers weren't helping. Finally, I convinced myself that if I allowed a doctor to laser my eyeball for LASIK (best decision of my life), I shouldn't be so resistant to giving someone a shot at my back. I did my Google review research :) and scheduled a visit at The Joint in the Heights. My first visit with Dr. Dana was ~ 45 minutes starting with questions about my issue and some basic education before she did some muscle massage/pressure (that felt amazing), then the actual adjustment. She was professional, friendly and efficient. She came up with a plan for future adjustments and stretching exercises for me to do at home between visits. Being an eternal realist, I didn't expect to be "cured" after one visit, but I DID notice a feeling of "lightness" - helping me understand why many people get adjustments whether or not they have a specific "condition". I have already noticed I'm sleeping better and w/o a heating pad! I think I'm sold on chiropractic treatments at The Joint since they make it so affordable...
Read moreI came here with the impression that some one would wave their hands over me and scream and shout âHealâ shortly after, I thought they would continue waving their hands over my hip (area of pain) and continue yelling at it âDemons get out!!!â Then I imagined someone telling me ârise my childâ and that my pain would be completely gone and we would proceed to scream, yell, shout and dance as we celebrate the miraculous disappearance of my pain
I was quite disappointed that this didnât happen
But I was extremely satisfied with the overall experience
They offered me, Same day availability for my first time visit (I called in last minute)
The entire team showed enthusiasm and were happy to see me and everyone else that arrived
Wait time felt non existent because they had me in and out in no time (maybe this is why we skipped the celebratory dance or else I would have delayed everyoneâs appointments)
They called to see how I was doing the next day
My hip pain has gradually gone down and I look forward to my future appointments
They are not perfect and they do have room for improvement but they are still 5 stars...
