My recent visit to Calloway's Nursery was truly exceptional, and I can't recommend this place enough. Despite the scorching Texas heat, every single person on staff greeted me with a genuine smile and a warm welcome. The positive energy was palpable from the moment I walked in the door. I'm a new homeowner in Texas, and I was feeling a bit overwhelmed by the prospect of landscaping and planting in a new climate. However, my anxiety quickly disappeared thanks to the incredible guidance of the manager, Allyson. She was an absolute gem—friendly, patient, and incredibly knowledgeable. Allyson took the time to listen to my needs and helped me navigate the wide selection of plants. She provided invaluable advice on what would thrive here in our local conditions, ensuring that I left with a fantastic plan and the perfect plants for my new yard. It's rare to encounter such outstanding customer service, especially from a store manager who is so hands-on and genuinely passionate about helping customers. My trip to Calloway's was more than just a shopping trip; it was a truly educational and enjoyable experience, all thanks to Allyson and her wonderful team. I'll definitely be a...
Read moreI love Calloway's overall and love to shop there. I had a hard time finding anyone to help me today at the Hurst location. The one lady I did interupt (while she was talking and visiting with another employee) I guess I was invisible as I was there almost an hour before i got frustrated and asked for help. I aksed where the plants that do well in shade were and she said all over the place ... so I asked do you have any Turk's Cap ? She said:" oh I am not familiar with that, but let me ask someone ." Then she said no it was too early in the season after calling someone on the radio. I saw plenty of employees the hour I was there but not ONE asked me if I needed help.... bought a few plants and left no offer to get them to the car and they were heavy and it was very windy. I know there is a shortage of people, we all get it . I think bettet to have a few that know how to be helpful than a whole bunch who cant even ask a customer if they need help or have any knowledge of plants. Maybe they should be training about plants instead of talking to...
Read moreUpdate (12/12/23). I am very pleased to report that after the owner's response, I went back to the store this morning and received a replacement tree with no questions asked! And all the staff, especially Rita at the front counter, were very sympathetic, friendly and helpful. Thank you all for the great customer service. We are ready to decorate tree #2 (4th picture)! Merry Christmas! 🌳 😀 We have been buying Christmas trees from Calloways since 2015. Always had a great experience there with great customer service. So this review is not about the store, but more so to review the tree we purchased 15 days ago. Upon getting it home, we placed it, filled the holder with water and tree feed sold at the store. It was beautiful for about a week, but then it became completely dried out and brittle, and we have to take it down today and put it out for trash. I realized nobody can control this, luck of the draw, but spending $200 for a tree that won't make it until Christmas is so...
