I once walked in here and asked to walk around and see the architecture from the inside... Quite ironically a young African American girl met me and said, "oh, well, we would have to discuss the matter of your holiness with the bishop before you could enter." I laughed out loud as I was thinking inside my head, oh wow, how interesting coming from this young girl... does she know that blacks were not allowed anything to do with the priesthood ir even the very position she currently held back in the 70s? I appreciated the honesty since it did confirm what LDS actually believe, that your righteousness and your way to heaven all depends on YOU and how good YOU are. But the Bible clearly explains grace as something that literally cannot be defined as grace if any human merit were attached to it, and that the kingdom of God is not a matter of goodness in the people but the grace of Jesus to die in our place for our sin. (Ephesians 2:8-9) I told her neither I nor anyone else, (including their so-called "holy bishop) is holy enough for God's perfection were it not for Jesus, and left. Jesus is the only one holy enough, the only one to have lived perfectly. Jesus came not for the righteous, but the sinners. (Luke 5:32) These mormons are just like the Pharisees, white washed tombs looking beautiful on the outside but on the inside filled with the death of their own righteousness they believe will earn their way to heaven. If you walk out the back of any church and it's all about you you you, and what you can do better to earn your way or be a better Christian... you're underneath the law and such self righteous teaching leads to death. However, if you read the word of God and find a church who teaches with a focus where it's all about Him and who He is, and how kind and gracious He is, has been, and will be towards us... stay for such teaching reveals life. This beautiful building will eventually crumble underneath the Cornerstone of the true revelation of Jesus when He comes back to rescue sinners He has graciously adopted to be...
Read moreWhen you need to get closer to our Savior the Lord Jesus Christ you can simply just walk the temple grounds and you will feel the spirit. My grandparents were sealed in this Temple 60 years ago. I had the opportunity to visit this place a few weeks back. Being from Alabama my grandparents had to travel across the country and a Volkswagen beetle. While they were headed out there at the transmission went out, my mom got extremely sick, and they lost their luggage. Having said that, my grandparents said they wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. The reasoning behind all of the mishaps was simple. You see Lucifer knew that if they were sealed in the temple great and marvelous works would come from their posterity. Because of that, I have been sealed in the temple to my children and my children have been sealed to their spouses. Both of my children have serve missions faithfully and have brought many people into Christ. Because of that one small act of them going to the temple mighty wonders of taking place. Miracles beyond...
Read moreFor those who are wondering what a temple is, a temple is like this one is the House of the Lord. If you go on the grounds you'll see it say this on the east wall of the temple.
When we step on to these sacred grounds we can feel the peace and the Lord has for all His children.
Inside members of the Church of Jesus christ of Latter-day Day Saints make sacred promises or covenants that bind their family for eternity. We likewise offer this blessing to those who have already passed through the veil. If you would like to learn more just ask someone on the grounds and they will be more than happy to help. There is also a visitors center on the east side of the temple with plenty of information and is usually always open. ☺️
This is my favorite temple for many reasons.
For one, it's geographical location. It's alongside the river and especially close to the waterfall which makes for great photos. It's also in downtown Idaho Falls so plenty of restaurants nearby and plus the city has been really trying hard to make that...
