I have been eating at the Snakebite for over 20 years (I think) and it is a dependably tasty and fun place to eat! The interior is cool and funky and it is almost always bustling with activity. On a weekend you may expect to wait if you go at a peak time of the day.
Because it is often busy, it might be better to avoid going at popular times for a date night or just make sure to sit outside (weather permitting). It can get pretty noisy in the main dining room. Though, this can be a distinct advantage if you have to go out with family members you don’t particularly like. Then you have a legitimate reason to not listen to them or pay attention when they start to criticize your life choices!
There is a children’s menu and you can take slightly older children but I wouldn’t recommend taking toddlers or children under the age of five during peak hours. The food can at times take a while to come out if they are slammed, although generally it can be fairly quick. But it can be tough on little ones to have to wait, and again the noise and bustle might be too much stimulation. So just plan ahead a bit with your little ones and you’ll be golden!
The majority of the food I have eaten there is almost always a 5. The only thing I wasn’t as as impressed with recently was the steamed clams. I think it could use less cheese and more garlic and herbs. Additionally because it’s served in a wide pasta dish if cools down quickly. However, the pesto bread that it comes with it and that accompanies other pasta and salad dishes is amazing. The house salad with cranberries and their own vinaigrette is lovely, but you might want the dressing on the side as it can sometimes be intense.
Service is always friendly and efficient without being annoying. The interior of the restaurant is clean and bright. There are vegetarian and pescatarian options on the menu, though it would be nice to see those expanded and the addition of Beyond or Impossible burgers as an option for their amazing burgers. Their South Fork Salmon Sandwich is the bomb and their Grand Teton burger is amazing as well (according to to my meat-eating friends).
Overall it is a lovely place to go if you’re visiting in town or if you want a delicious meal with friends...
Read moreI've been a chef & pâtisserie for 30 years & by far this was the worst food I've ever had. The Waygu beef (apparently local) is nothing like the original Japanese Waygu beef. This was sour, bitter, and just a no for me (tasted like it was dipped is sour pickles). For almost $25 it was not worth the money. Salad was fresh and presentation was well done. Could of been better. CrispyChicken sandwich was just not good. That's coming from my husband who tried it and wanted nothing to do with it. The service was ... we're all indifferent about it because everyone forgot to give us things that are basic before eating. Manager never greeted us that stood behind us cleaning up. Honestly guys, you never know who is rating your restaurant. The name fits though! Its bitter, nasty, and gross, and unpleasant. You get what you came for. To be completely honest, I rather eat cat or dog food and I think it would taste better. This restaurant inside is incredibly noisy and too busy. If you like that kind of ambiance then go for it! I guess once everyone inside once boosed up can't taste anymore so food tastes great, intoxicated. I know my review is harsh but I give the truth and facts. The only thing great about this restaurant is it's location. Its beautiful but the food ruins it. I am getting well known for my reviews so, that's why you don't see replies from owners and managers. But truth is when I buy things or eat somewhere those things and places sell or fill up quickly. Its not my first rodeo. I really care about my community and hope that where they shop or eat is the VERY BEST! Because you deserve the best! No question about it. But on the positive side they can improve with those menu items and depending on what time and day you visit here will determine the ambiance. I don't know if I'd give it another try but you never know. It would be fun to do a food...
Read moreArrived at the restaurant to stand at the door for at least 10 minutes and not even be greeted by anyone. Finally a gal cleaned off a table walked up front didn’t look at any of the guest waiting and said whoever was here first can go sit over there. Sat the menus down and silverware on top of the menus and we had to walk to the table ourselves. Then once we sat down it was another 30 minutes before a server even spoke to us and she said as she passed by “I will be with you soon”. Then another 5 minutes passed and she finally came to greet us. We ordered our food and drinks at the same time since we had been waiting in total about 40 minutes. When my husbands salad came out, and as he was eating it we noticed a beetle in the salad. We were totally grossed out and even more grossed out when the beetle started crawling around in the salad. I tried 5-6 times to get the servers attention, even walked up to the counter and said ma’am over and over and she wouldn’t even recognize my attempts to get her attention. I sat back down and then she brought our meals out. We showed her the beetle and she was very apologetic. However no manager came out to apologize, nothing was taken off our ticket to compensate, but then she pointed out she didn’t charge us for our sodas we ordered. What a joke! I know we will NEVER go back! The server was nice with what little attention we got from her though. I was going to add a picture of the beetle in the salad, but it...
