Waterfall Park — Attraction in Independence

Great place for walking, outdoor parties with shelter & lots of shade from tree's, fishing, walking your dog, restroom, watching every size turtle sun themselves on tree limbs in the ponds, also a small deck that overlooks the lake. I found a baby turtle that was 1 1/2 inches. That's a first for me. It was basking in the sunshine on the walking path, a playground, benches here and there along the walking paths, a place where you have 4 bridge rails along the path to choose a place to put a lock of love of you & your beloved, one is where the waterfall is. My Frenchie Maybell and I walk here daily. It has a few different ways you can go on your walk/run. It's pretty busy on nice mornings from 8 to 10. And there's men playing chess or checkers at the picnic tables and children playing in the small park area. Very clean, restrooms, different paths and a variety of people at all times throughout the day. Some areas are remote however I've never felt unsafe. Maybell actually doesn't whine and complain about exercising here when I make her get out of her bed to go. Way to much to...

The park is large with a lot of different additions for kids of all ages. The pond nearby is stocked full of small fish for recreational fishing and it always has turtles. You're always sure to see beautiful wildlife like ducks and geese. The climbing wall and the playground are great pastimes. Not to mention how surrounded by nature it can feel in certain areas.
