Hobby Lobby — Local services in Independence

2025 Update: was looking for disco balls to make a snowman for my winter scape at home. Not only did I find all the sizes but they were all 50% off! Saved me a bunch of money!!

Still haven’t pieced it together yet. However I included pics of a smaller version I decorated with accessories. The large version will look even better & will be outside.

This location is close to home & rarely disappoints. I also recently was here for centerpieces for a couple events. All the items were on sale! HL had sales all the time. If they don’t have it on sale one week, you know it will be on sale the next!

The store is clean. There are usually long lines. They need to find a way to get that together better.

Went to this location a week ago & it never disappoints. Fall sales 40% off. Purchased some cool lanterns for the season change for 50% off. U can’t go wrong buying something from here!

Plenty of Hello Kitty items too 🐱

Lots of new products to choose from! Even some Rae Dunn products under the spring shop discount :-) I was really impressed when I went in there last week and saw all the goodies at this location. That tells me some of the higher end locations that have or offer more items should have even more good treats to come! Here are the few photos I took of just some of the things that I liked! The store is always clean and orderly and there’s always someone around to help which is very helpful!

I haven't been to Hobby Lobby since before covid, and honestly I probably won't come back. The store was well stocked and I love the deals, but this last time I went the woman working in the fabric section was pretty rude. I picked up some fleece from a bin marked "$3 clearance" and waited to have it cut. She had a poor attitude with the woman in front of me about the trim she was having cut, she wanted to make sure it was the right width before purchasing and the employee just had a very short tone and attitude about the customer looking at the trim to check the width after she had unrolled some of it. When it came my turn, I asked if I could get 6 yards of the fleece. I said "$3 is such a good deal!" and she said "this isn't on sale." I pointed to the bin less than 4 feet away from me and said I had just picked up the fleece from there, the sign says $3. She said "no, it's 30% off but not $3. We just didn't have room on the other side so it had to go somewhere." I'm sorry, what? You don't have room where the regular priced items are so you just throw them with clearance all together? I didn't want to be a Karen about it so I said I didn't want any and offered to put it back. She declined. It's not a huge deal, but customers shouldn't have to double check and guess at what's actually on sale and what's not. If she had been more kind about explaining it, I would have understood if it had been misplaced or something of that sort. Today, I went to Hobby Lobby 4300 Bass Pro Dr, Independence, MO 64055. It was the most horrible experience I have ever endured. First let me admit, I don't know how to sew or make beautiful crafts. However, I did not expect to be belittle, insulted, and humilated. Yes, I experience all three of these things by two female employee. I even had ladies in the check out line laughing along with the customer service personal. Usually, I like doing busy at family friendly, christian establishments; so, I was shocked at how callous these two female sales representatives could be. They must have left there christian hats at home. I should have asked them if I could have gotten them a saucer of milk thats how catty they were.

I do intend to take my purchases back tomorrow and will never patronize Hobby Lobby in Independence, Mo again.

I would not have given Hobby Lobby in Independence, Mo any stars, but yelp wouldn't take my review without at least one.
