We stayed in SandCastle II in March 2021. We were not impressed with the condition of the condo. First, it was completely dirty. We found hairs in bathroom, dust balls under the sofa, black dirt embedded on the shower floor. We reported all of this to staff and nothing was done. You would think with Covid that plumee would take extra precautious on their approach to cleaning. We ended up spending a lot of money on cleaning supplies, mops, and other items to make the condo clean. Also, we had next to no water pressure. We reported and a repair guy show up. He eventually replaced one bathroom faucet but had to go to Home Depot a few times to buy parts. We still didn't have enough water pressure in showers. We tried to cook out on the grills and one grill had one of the two burners working. The maintenance guy couldn;t help us. He told us to call the office. Lastly, our final 3 days were rough. The sewer backed up and the parking level under the condo had standing sewage water. it smelled HORRIBLE and you could see the actual toilet paper in spots. They had trucks and pumps trying for 3 days to fix. The smell carried into our room on the 9th floor. I discussed this with the person who checked us out and he simply told me there was nothing they could do but knew about the issue. He proceeded to ask me to pay $35 for a lost parking pass. I was mad and he knew it and eventually waived the fee. I will never go back to this place again. Spending $4k on a family vacation for this condo was a joke. Other renters from our hometown who rented different condos in Sandcastle II said the same thing about their units. The positive of the condo is the view. You are paying for a 5 star hotel because of the view and getting a run down motel 6 with extra bedrooms. If you love the smell of sewage or work in the waste management industry then this is the place for you. We had friends stay at different locations on IRB without ocean views and their condos were immaculate and cheaper. Please consider other locations and don't get sucked in by the pictures Plumee post on their web site. Just so you all know, this is the first time in my life that I ever wrote a negative review. I'm a very understanding person but this really was a hard pill to swallow and don't want others to experience the disappointment we had at...
Read moreThe unit I stayed in was satisfactory.
Parking is a constant issue. It was great Plumlee had an overflow option at the office.
The showerhead in the master was stopped. I had to vinegar it. A couple if grab bars in the shower would help a lot.
The kitchen was recently remodeled and had very good appliances. I cleaned the coffee maker because I'm picky. A good can opener would have been appreciated. I bought one. I brought my crockpot. A few dishes with grip handles for the microwave would have been nice. Some foods need more than a minute or two. There were plenty of stove pots and pans and serving dishes.
Big dining table and plenty of chairs.
Living room satisfactory. I don't like bamboo or rattan for sofa and chairs. Uncomfortable for long sitting and reading. No recliner.
Tv in living worked fine. Cable was good. We didn't use tvs in bedrooms.
Not enough real pillows. Some were sofa cushions in pillowcases. Since we were only 3 people we managed.
Living room sliding door is very heavy and hard to push. Didn't try master sliding door.
The drying rack on the balcony was very rusted and we couldn't use it. A ceiling fan on the balcony would be wonderful for summer afternoons. I had brought a box fan for that purpose.
I appreciate there was plenty of hand soap, garbage bags, laundry pods, coffee filters, salt, pepper, dishwash pods. A good starter supply of toilet tissue.
I truly, gratefully appreciate the top lock on the front door that prevented my elderly sister from wandering out in the middle of the night.
This was our 4th stay at Reef. Always a different unit. The grills are great. The pool is well kept but could use more shady area. Always clean. Staff easy to deal with. The Gulf is fantastic.
The potential at this place is awesome. A little more attention to small details would...
Read moreI can't begin to tell you how awful this company is. In fact this will be the first negative review I have ever even written. We rented a condo from this company and we were in constant contact with them in the days before we were to arrive. We asked if we could possibly check in a bit early, since no one uses this condo anyway. They said,we won't know until tomorrow; we call the following week, same BS answer. We called the day before..same same. So we thought we'll just go early anyway. We knew the check in time was at 4:00, but seeing how this place had not been rented in the last two months, it would not be unreasonable to get in a couple of hours early. Arrived and we went inside, filled all of the paperwork out.(more BS, you would think we were buying a house) and left for the park. Came back in a hour..NOPE still not ready. Okay, now it's lunch time...after lunch we called again at 1:00.....Still no go. To make a long story short. Finally at 3:35 I go inside and they said it's finally ready. NO crap it's ready..I have just spent the last two friggin hours in the parking lot with nothing do and see everyone else going in and coming out with the keys. That's why I even went back inside this time; which will be the last I might add.
The condo was nice, but on day one the first elevator broke. And guess what, on Sunday the second one broke. Enjoy the walk up/down 5 flights of stairs any time you want to go to the beach. And checking out is a nightmare when one has to haul all of your stuff down via the walkway. btw, Plumlee had no idea, and could not care less. They said, " that issue is not our concern." I bet when we tell the owners of this place they are paying a idiot company each month they will think...
