I do love that they have a walking track for exercise. The playground is slightly below average in my opinion, but it's not broken down or horrible. They do have shelters which provide some shade, as there are basically zero trees for shade. There are a couple ball fields that I haven't been on. As someone coming from a diverse area of Louisville where young kids get along for hours without even speaking the same language, I have been disappointed several times with bad attitudes from children. On four occasions kids have done things like run away "because we don't know you!" Or loudly said that she can't play with them because they don't know her, even though she introduces herself each time. I have also seen boys bully younger boys while the older boys parents are either talking to each other or on their phones. This seems to be a problem with kids 6-10. My daughter plays great with the younger children and helps them around the playground, and has been able to find a few friendly children there. Also, no trash lying...
Read moreWe specifically visited the new Dog Park. Well worth the drive from our home in Floyds Knobs. The one in New Albany is much closer (and we'd love to go), but the hoops they make you jump through, and the fees you have to pay, just don't make it worth the effort. We travel with our dogs a lot, and have visited MANY dog parks across the country. So far, New Albany is the only one we've experienced that actually makes access difficult, and discouraging. With that being said, not enough nice things can be said about the Silver Creek Dog Park. Great setting - plenty of shade, plus lots of open sky. Also, a nice variety of training obstacles, a huge area for the runners, and a clean, fully-functional watering station. A bit more seating for the humans would be nice, but nothing is stopping them from bringing their own chairs. And as is ALWAYS the case at dog parks, somehow, the dogs seem to bring the nicest people along with them. Looking forward to...
Read morePlenty of parking, Porta potties/ bring sanitizer. Overall a very nice park. Huge playground however there is no shade for the children or the parents waiting. Pavilion has about 15 picnic tables and there are other small pavilions with four to six tables. The dog park is great it has lots of ramps obstacles and other features for your dog to play with or to train your dog. They also have water bowls with water. There is a one mile loop around the ball fields and it's a beautiful Park to keep it up really well. It's a peaceful Park sort of there's an airport nearby a small airport so planes and helicopters are constantly flying over. So it's a little noisy and for that reason I only give...
