Taco City S Indiana — Restaurant in Sellersburg

As with most Mexican eateries, as soon as I saw Taco City I knew I had to give it a try. After checking out their menu online I decided to call in an order for their Steak Fajitas. I called the order in and it was waiting when I got there ten minutes earlier than I had been told so I was glad that I went straight there. When I returned home I unpacked it and was a bit surprised. The "salad" that came with the order was a small cup of shredded lettuce with bits of tomato and dressing which was easily consumed in three bites. The steak was chopped into such tiny pieces that I initially thought it was ground beef. The most surprising part however was that absolutely nothing had any seasoning of any kind. Since there was no sauce or salsa provided I hoped that the meat, beans and rice would provide some flavor but it did not. The steak, peppers, onions and refried beans were exactly that, with no additional flavor what so ever. The rice did have a bit of flavor but not enough to compensate for everything else. I know that fajitas are not traditionally a spicy dish but they also are not totally bland either. Normally when I try a new restaurant I go with a burrito as that tells a lot about their style. ((((((((READ BEFORE EATING HERE)))))))))I JUST TRIED THIS PLACE FOR THE FIRST TIME. I DONT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TRYING TO PULL HERE. BUT I ASKED FOR A CHICKEN CHIMICHANGA AND WHAT THEY GAVE ME WAS FULL OF PORK. IT WAS RUBBERY DIDNT TASTE GOOD AT ALL. THEY ASK IF EVERYTHING WAS OK BECAUSE I WASNT EATING IT. I SAID I ASKED FOR CHICKEN, YOU GAVE ME PORK. SHE SAID THAT IS CHICKEN. IM 42 YEARS OLD. I KNOW WHAT CHICKEN AND PORK TASTES LIKE,THAT WAS PORK 100%. I WASNT GOING TO ARGUE. I DIDNT EAT IT, LEFT IT ON THE PLATE, THE BEANS WAS LIKE RUNNY SOUP WATER. DIDNT EAT MUCH OF THAT. SO I HAD CHIPS AND RICE. THEY STILL CHARGED ME I PAIED 13 DOLLARS,AND TIP SHE NEVER CAME TO MY TABLE AFTER TAKING MY ORDER NEVER FILLED MY DRINK SOME BOY DID IT FOR ME BECAUSE I ASKED HIM WALKING BY SHE WAS NO WHERE TO BE FOUND. The food here had 0 flavor. The chips and salsa tasted like watered down tomato juice and then I ordered the fajitas with chicken and carne asada. When the food came out, I was confused when I saw how big the portion was, but it makes sense because they had to compensate for being afraid to season the food. Not to mention I found a hair in the steak. Took one or two bites and put my fork down. Nothing about this place was redeeming since our service wasn’t great either. The water also tasted like it was mixed with garbage truck juice. Not sure how this place is rated so highly but please don’t trust the good reviews. No flavor, nasty water, terrible service.
