I just had one of the most awful and humiliating experiences ever in dealing with any business. On Friday, September 22, at approximately 1225 p.m., I entered Family Discount Furniture in hopes of finding a small sofa or decent-sized love seat for my apartment, which I had just moved into. Unfortunately, I'm not able to get a complete living room set as my apartment is just as small as a studio. Upon entering, no one, and I mean no one, greeted me. I then proceeded to browse their "showroom" and started sitting on the loveseats I liked. I then went to another section of the store and encountered more sofas and loveseats. Once I was done looking, I looked up and noticed a black female and black male across the other side of the store against the wall and adjacent to the entrance. They were facing toward me, and at no time did they make eye contact; they were looking away in a very demeaning, aloof, and disrespectful way as if to suggest they were not interested in honoring not only my business but also my presence; I had this overwhelming feeling that they did not want me in their store. I then approached the two of them and asked the young lady about their policy and procedure whenever customers entered the store. She then claimed they did not see me come in, yet at some point, they did observe me sitting down and looking at furniture on their showroom floor but never made any attempt to approach me to see if I required any assistance which obviously, I did. Not only am I never stepping another foot in this place, but I will be filing a complaint with the state consumer affairs division. As a disabled veteran, I fought too hard for my country ever to be treated in this manner, so whenever I am, I will always continue to let it be known. Companies must treat every citizen of the towns where they do business with the utmost respect and courtesy, regardless of any perceived negative feelings they may harbor against them. We keep these businesses afloat and until more people like me start speaking out about this level of disrespectful and insulting treatment, they will continue to...

Now here is my story I met Saheed at the store and he sold me a bedroom set (just bedframes, dresser, and side lamp for 2488. mind you, the actual cost was 1950) and i changed my mind in about 2hrs to make an exchange, but he refused and he also said cancelation fees was $373. And later junior intervened and exchanged the bed set with another and mind you, Junior gave me another with a chest drawer. i asked more than 4times and he agreed for same price i was happy because he attended to good and was given at same price. but i forgot to tell to include chest drawer to my old receipt and that's what they are using against me now, they delivered my bed without a chest, i asked them to take it back they refused. also the box spring was too high, i asked for an exchange they also refused. I know am telling the truth and my God will never let them go unpunished, God will judge them for putting me tru this and cheating me off my sweat. guys stay away from this store. they can't be trusted. i have never seen a store you buy something without warranty, and can't return, they said if i return, i will pay 80% runawayguys...

I called to complain and at first they told me to keep the items and they would do an exchanged.. I call back and told them I don't want to keep the items they should be sent back and I would like a new order.( this was all while the driver was still there) No one seem apologetic or concerned... The next day I called back to get an update on my order. I was told someone would reach out to me in 3 days. On that 3rd day when I did not hear from anyone I reached out again. To only find out at this time the product is on back order and I would not receive my dresser for another 2 WEEKS!!!! Highly pissed about this news I requested to cancel the order. I was then told it I could not cancel my order. I would have not ordered the dresser if I knew it was on back order.
The part I am still trying to understand is if the order is on back order and HAS NOT SHIPPED why can't the order be canceled????
I would never recommend this place to anyone and I will be writing the better business bureau about this...
