Corner Market — Attraction in Jackson

This location has a hot lunch on Sundays and full salad bar. While I was there loading up on all my salad topping goodies and checking out the fried chicken, a seemingly "homeless" man stopped to talk to me. He complimented me on my purse while he admired the hot lunch through the glass. We spoke for a minute and the lady behind the counter asked if she could get either of us anything. I told her I was fine and he said he was ok too because he didn't have any money. Before I could even think to offer anything, the lady behind the counter offered to buy him lunch with her own money.

I thought that was the nicest thing. Here is a lady, on the clock, trying to make money herself but still offers to feed someone in need. The man politely turned the meal down saying that that wouldn't be right but said thank you and went on his way. There are still good people out there. And McDades has a way of finding some...

The kitchen area looks clean. The food was seasoned. Hot sauce available. I chose to get small pieces of meat. If my plate looks bare to you. I also didn’t choose a bread. It was a basic meal. The line moved quickly. Easy to grab a couple groceries on the way out. Although pricey. Cons: the grab n go salads didn’t look fresh. I think all places that run daily plate specials should have the weekly menu posted somewhere and online. I just couldn’t find one. The site said every Friday there’s catfish. Never again will I visit this location. The Manager is very disrespectful.I went in to buy water, the manager cornered me at checkout and accused me of stealing. He actually insisted that I show him contents of my pockets and jacket.I did so and even then he went on to say that I must've put it down somewhere. As I gathered my belongings he looked me square in the eyes as if he attempted to pierce through my soul and said to me "and don't come back". I'd never felt so humiliated in my life.
