Cole County Circuit Court — Attraction in Jefferson City

Absolutely Awful!!!!! Don't waste your time...drive to the next county. I went in to get information on having a courthouse wedding. I wanted to get the ball rolling on a marriage liscense, because my fiance is in the army and stationed across the country. I gave the woman simple information that shouldve been enough to answer my questions. She immediately raised her voice and with a rude tone said, "you're giving me too much information." She proceeded to belittle me and speak to me like she was scorning a child. This was just the beginning of her rampage. On top of it all there was a whole room full of women there just watching this lady be so disrespectful to me. It got to the point where she was trying to give me unwanted information on cheap plane tickets so I could just go to my fiance's duty station and get married there! Finally I said, "I'll just go to another county and get married" as I began walking out of the office. Then a woman in the back told me to wait and handed me copies of a military absentee form. Went to court house to get a restraining order, not like I have spent alot of time in places like this, my niece was with me, she walked in front of me to where you are scanned, she had a bottle of soda pop closed in her hand, the old guard was the rudest person I have ever encountered, and believe you, I've worked with the public all my life, she apologized for having it, saying she didn't see any sign, and he just went off, I myself looked and said you don't have to be so rude, with that he was even worse. I'm sorry, but you want people to give respect, you need to give it at the same time. Do not let me get started with these people. They had the audacity to give my life over to a woman who is perpetually late with bills. She had the audacity to lie in a cord law, and tell the judge that I had an illness I have never had nor have been treated for. They didn’t bother to do any research.
