Gumbo Bottoms Ale House — Restaurant in Jefferson City

This is a nice small cozy Pub, everyone there is friendly, the barkeep never met a stranger. The drinks are nice and strong and affordable. It's a very comfortable warm environment and you never know when there's going to be some live music playing. It's a great place to catch up with friends. There are restaurants across the street or next door that you can get stuff from and bring it over if you have to eat while you imbibe. Has a nice selection of beers and other hard spirits. A bit more upscale than the other drinking establishment I visited, this was more comfortable and more open. Definitely not a dive bar and more like a beer bar.

I was able to study the list and select a beer, then found a great seat by the window that not only had a view of the street and a little bit of a breeze but also a power outlet.

About two hours (and two beers) later, I had caught up on my Yelp reviews for the day, I had done some people watching, and I was ready to meet my friend for dinner...

The co owner is the rudest person I have met in Jefferson City and that’s saying a lot. Overpriced drinks, the inside is small and uncomfortable. The "locals" are very unwelcoming if you don’t match their "group". I will never go back worst bar in Jefferson City.
