Country Market — Local services in Springfield

Best bacon in Springfield! I go here a lot for dog bones, fresh produce, and awesome canned goods. Everything always looks fresh and they sell a lot of local goods you cant find many other places. Everyone that works here is super friendly and helpful although sometimes they are clearly in a rush but they are always respectful. I am trying to support their business more and more instead of supermarket chains like walmart. They absolutely are head and shoulders above the big chains in terms of expediency and freshness. Even with long lines (such as today), the cashier gets people out the door ASAP in a friendly and courteous manner. You have to try their bacon, it's my absolute must have now that I've had it several times. Their breakfast sausage is great too! Heads up that this was one of only two places to find meat when Covid-19 reared its ugly head. I think the prices are fair given that it's a smaller operation but I'd easily pay a little more for the quality they provide in their products. Every spring they have wonderful looking herbs, flowers and other plants out front. Next year I think I will buy several seeing as how my seeds didn't turn out so well this time around. My favorite thing about this place is the staff. They are always willing to help answer any dumb questions I have and help where they can. I really appreciate the work they put into this business and I hope the place stays open for many, many more...

I just stopped off for the first time and was truly impressed. I'd been out riding my motorcycle so I was only able to pick up a couple of things. I tried the chicken salad and 5 bean salad for a nice lunch when I got home, and I have a couple of hand made tamales and a great looking tomato I'm going to try for dinner. While small, the produce section had everything I could imagine I'd need including some great looking spaghetti squash. Given that they'll be closed on Labor Day, I may just have to go back today to grab a few...

Love this place for many reasons... the fresh products mostly and that it is local. However, note to management. The last 3 times I've been in or called the place seems to be under high stress, unfriendly, and extremely curt and short. Running a business is high stress yes, but the go away and leave me alone attitude could actually work which would be a terrible terrible thing for everyone.
