New Jersey City Auto Repair — Attraction in Jersey City

Took car for an inspection as they advertised they were able to provide the service for $150. I did think that was an expensive price but having just moved to New Jersey, figured it must be par for the course being it’s good for 2 years. Was told to comeback in an hour or so… however, I received call that mechanic was late and would need another hour, which happens. What isn’t supposed to happen is when I show back up to pick up my car… and my car isn’t on the lot. I obviously was very confused and when asked where my car is, I was told it was very close and they have different shops they brought it to. I asked further after waiting another 20 mins and kept getting evasive answers but finally my car arrived and I learned that they took it to a registered car inspection agency in Secacus!!

Crazy and probably illegal that a stranger took my car without my knowledge drove it on a highway to just go get an inspection I could have just done myself had they been upfront and truthful. This just happened yesterday and I still can’t believe how insane that is to do without telling me… what if they had damaged my car?!

Shame on me for not knowing better but they were liars and tried charging me a premium for doing something likely illegal.

I keep coming here for years to service my vehicle. The experience was awesome until recently. As most other reviews stated here both the service was fast and price was reasonable.

However recently I find that they start to treat customers dishonestly.

Last week I asked them to replace the tailgate switch for my Honda CRV. They quoted me a labor cost of $225, saying the job was electric and needed "reprogramming the electric system”. This was more than what a dealer would quote. I also grew suspicious as I did some youtube videos showing how the job could be done. So I took the car home and did the job myself. It only required basic tools. The total time for me was 30min. No reprogramming is needed at all.

I am starting to think stop coming to this place in future. I do see they have growing business nowadays as the shop front is packed with vehicles. Perhaps that explains why they don't care for customer...

I’m a physician I really care about timing and efficiency. This shop will give you that support a busy person like my self needs. My father found this shop for me and I’m so grateful.

Getting my car serviced is always a huge inconvenience with my work . Anyways Lexus was charging me over 2000 USD to change my brakes… ON A LEASE.. I decided to refuse their “gracious” offer.

Came to this shop they got me brakes and got them replaced in less then an hour. Also it’s cheaper in comparison to New York or dealerships by a lot I highly recommend them. I will be going back to get cosmetic repairs before my return of lease on vehicle.

Feel at ease with prices and getting the job done. My car brakes feel brand new and the shake is gone.
