Great Wall — Restaurant in Jersey City

06.19.2025 lunchtime: I had a Dr.'s appointment next door and as i sat in my car waiting for rain to stop, I saw many customers patronizing - mainly Take-Out - this place. I thought food must be good. WRONG !, I spent over $70 for (2orders) Chicken with Broccoli,Rice, (3orders) General Tso Chicken wh rice. The Over Cooked rice was mushy and tasteless, same for the broccoli. The chicken did not taste like it was cooked fresh or even on the same day. The Spare Rib Tips were cooked hard and dry, they mask it with lots of flavored sauce. As I waited at the counter to pay, I saw a approx. two foot by two foot high pile of already fried chicken wings just sitting on the side of the fryer...no way they were fresh. I do not see how this place gets five stars but it is located in a Gentrified Section of Jersey City aka out-of-towners , what do they know about real good...

Don’t order from Great Wall at 426 Grand Street in Jersey City. Very disappointed. Just ordered from them and they give my order to someone else. Over the phone called to add a extra soup the lady keep saying my order was already picked up by my boyfriend or husband. I say no it wasn’t picked up that I’m on my way. When I got there I went inside to get the food it’s wasn’t ready. Few mins have past a lady came in to return a bag of food stating she got the wrong order. The Chinese lady was really trying to give us the return food since it’s was actually my order which was opened. Its a whole pandemic going on and she acting like it’s was ok and I witnessed the whole thing. What if I wasn’t there I would have got returned food that left the store and who know what happened in that few mins if someone have touched it...

Would recommend this place! You know what you are getting and it tends to be pretty decent - good. The fact there are always people there getting food speaks for itself in Jersey City. We tend to order the singapore noodles, chicken with black bean sauce, general tso's, and chicken with sweet corn soup. Singapore noodles: has good amount of curry powder + flavour Chicken with black bean sauce & General Tso's: great

In the Jersey City area, most of the Chinese takeaways open and close frequently so we weren't able to previously find a spot that was open for too long. This place has good quality, which speaks for itself as it is always busy when picking up food. More affordable than some of the more expensive...
