I mailed a package to my sister in Florida on August 31st. (I live in MA.) It still has not gotten there yet. Today is October 26th.

The following comes from an email I received on October 1st. (This came from someone working in customer services.)
"Unfortunately, we have not gotten any update on the tracking of this package. I tried to get in contact with the facility in New Jersey that scanned it last, but got no response."
**Update on Tuesday, December 29th = My sister still has not received this package. I filed a Search Request with USPS.com, and received this email (message) on December 11th;
"Thank you for using USPS.com. The US Postal Service® received the search request you submitted and it's being processed. Your package has not yet been recovered, but every effort is being made to locate your item(s)"
I originally filed the request on October 12th, and this is the 2nd time I got this same message (I also got this message on Wednesday, November 11th).
**Update on Thursday, February 11th, 2021 = Latest email (message) from February 9th;
"The US Postal Service® received the search request you submitted and it's being processed. Your package has not yet been recovered, but every effort is being made to locate your item(s)."
**Update on Thursday, March 11th, 2021 = Latest email (message) from this morning;
"The US Postal Service® received the search request you submitted and it's being processed. Your package has not yet been recovered, but every effort is being made to locate your item(s)."
**Update on Saturday, April 10th = Latest email (message);
"The US Postal Service® received the search request you submitted and it's being processed. Your package has not yet been recovered, but every effort is being made to locate your item(s)."

Read moreAfter one month that USPS lost my mail with my passport, they finally found and delivered it to me with a note (attached). They say the mail was damaged during the handling! So it confirms that Jersey City NDC open, steal, damage customer's mail and cause delay. Anything the review said here are true. Horrible service! Shall never ever use USPS.
My mail get the tracking info from Jersey City NDC on 11/10/2019, I received the mail in 12/10/2019. It's only mailed from NYC to New Hartford, NY 13413--the distance is only 289 miles, but took 30 days. Local USPS said no one knows the reason except the note.
I also confirm that sending many missing mail requests does help. The note is from Atlanta USPS center which handle all the missing mails. I sent 6 missing mail requests during the past month. Somebody must have heard the grievance. Guess what? USPS lost my passport with all valid visa stamps with it. The last tracking info is from this damn JERSEY CITY NJ NETWORK DISTRIBUTION CENTER! and USPS confirmed that the mail is lost and is doing the investigation. It's been in the Center for 28 days! How devastated I am with all the international tickets for traveling that I bought. I do not need your monetary compensation, USPS! Also, how do you compensate passport such an invaluable thing?
