Ringside Lounge — Restaurant in Jersey City

The only reason why I gave one star is because there was no option to give ZERO! First I want to mention how rude and unprofessional the staff is. I walked in at around 8:20 and when I asked one of the bartenders if I could sit in the back he answered yes and pointed to the back. I proceeded to go to the back and sat at an available table for twenty minutes. as I waited expecting for a waitress to hand me a menu I noticed there was one waitress who was serving another table , glanced at me briefly then proceeded to go to the bar without even greeting me or even asking if I even wanted a menu. So after sitting for nearly 25 minutes I made my way to the bar and asked if I was ever going to receive a menu. One of the bartenders informed me that the back seating area was closed. So I asked in confusion why was that not mentioned to me upon entering, she then asked me who told me that I can be seated back there because the seating area closes at 8:30pm. Then when informed of the bartender that decided to give me the erroneous information she then yelled and asked if he was going to serve me. He answered her by shaking his head “NO”. No apology for having me waste my time or anything. I felt embarrassed and upset and confused as to why I was told that I could be seated when in fact I couldn’t . I would never come back to this place ever I don’t care if they were giving out food and...

Classic legendary jersey city spot, great food , best drinks around. This is another place that is not for everyone but if you do decide to check it out be respectful to the local people ... I have heard nasty comments from "tourists" and people coming to take pictures for their social media to seem cool about the environment and atmosphere... If being around many black people makes you uncomfortable then take your racist ass somewhere else. (Only mentioning this because I've seen this happen a few times and heard some really messed up comments when NO ONE was acting in any type of manner that was deserving of such horrid judgements)

This not a tourist attraction type place (you most likely won't see Mike Tyson /Fabolous or any other celebrity but I guess there is always is the random possibility) if you come correct and respectfully you can have a great time, I've been going here for over 15 years and never had any issues. The nights can get crowded but the afternoon is a chill lunchtime crowd , I've been to lunch here many times with coworkers from out of town and they all enjoyed themselves. If you never been and really want to check it out I would say go at lunch time when it's not packed so you can enjoy your meal and drink in peace and see why it's beloved treasure and staple to the Jersey City locals.

I frequent this place often enough. It's a small space so on a busy night parking is a bit difficult because the parking lot is so small. It's difficult to find a spot at the bar to sit on a busy night when there is a game on like Sunday night football or a boxing match. The drinks are great. They have these 32oz drinks that get you intoxicated off just one! They have tons of flavors and even offer frozen versions (Don't drink and drive!) Only thing is they make the drinks very strong so you should order fruit flavors like Malibu bay breeze or sex on the beach to ensure it will still be tasty.

You can walk out with your drink and take it home if you don't finish. Awesome! It's a little ratchet/hood but the food is decent and affordable. Plenty of screens to watch the games. They don't have a large staff so you may have to wait a little bit to get served but they always get to you in a timely manner.

They chicken wings are real good. French fries taste like frozen grocery store French fries. They burgers taste like something I would prepare at a cookout. Very homemade. Onion rings same thing. I had they oxtails one time and it wasn't my favorite. I prefer Caribbean style oxtails...
