We stayed here for 3 nights and paid $255 including tax. The first two nights were about $70 and the third night was $82. That seemed pretty cheap when I booked it but in retrospect it seems expensive for what we got. The Good: - We couldn't find a remote in our room but when we called the front desk a man brought us a replacement in about 2 minutes. - The breakfast was small and simple but the room was clean and fresh. The Bad: - The bed's outer cover was stained and appeared dirty. - The natural lighting was very poor and made the room feel claustrophobic. - The floor was bumpy. There were quite a few uneven spots. - We were close(ish) to the city but the location is actually pretty poor. Every time we wanted to go anywhere we had to drive a mile and do a U-turn because of the concrete barrier. I shouldn't complain too much because, well, how much should you really expect from a Rodeway Inn?

Negative -5 star One of worst service and hotel we saw in our life;staff were very rude;book through Expedia 1)Ask more charges 2) Door locks are not working; couldn’t open al 3 rooms even after 10 mins of hard work 3)Room Servies was done at 9:30am even without our bath while we were taking breakfast 4)Air condition was not clean I observed inside net was broken; sever health issue due to small dust was coming out from air conditioning did complained to health and safety board new jercy 5)Maintenance guys already aware about the door lock issue and kids was inside sleeping went outside and couldn’t open door from outside; staff argue 20 mins in the morning at 5am but was not ready to accept their poorest service. Even free of charge I never recommended to stay in roadway inn new jercy.

This was my second stay here. I have stayed in the winter & summer, heater and air conditioners worked perfectly. The rooms are good size with TV, microwave, fridge and small coffee machine. Bathroom is decent size. It was clean and was cleaned everyday while we were gone. The furniture could get an upgrade but then this is what you will get for the price here. If you want a better place, you have to pay a higher price!

Nasty Nasty Nasty! When we got into our room, the bathroom had toilet paper in it and urine. It had clearly not been cleaned! I told the management. He had somebody come to clean it. The guy that came to clean it did not speak english. He brought in a broom with a towel over it, a bottle of cleaner and a rag. He sprayed the toilet, use a dry rag to wipe it down with. Then he sprayed two spray on the floor and grab the broom that had the towel on it, and proceeded to wipe down the floor with it like it was a mop. Then he sprayed two sprays inside the tub, and proceeded to wipe the tub out (the bottom of it only) with the same broom and towel that he used on the floor! I was so grossed out that I called the manager to come to the room. While waiting for the manager I tried explained that he needed to use a rag in the tub not a nasty quote unquote mop! But because he didn't speak English, he didn't understand me. So I had to point to the rag and say this. Not That and point to them mop! So he grabbed the rag that he wipe the toilet down with and wipe the tub out with it! I told him no! Clean rag clean new! When the manager got there I told him I wanted a clean Rag and I wanted the bathroom cleaned properly! He translated for me. However, I had to spray the bathtub down take the clean rag that the guy went to get, wet it down and show him how to use it and how to wipe it ALL down. The manager asked me if I wanted to change rooms. There was no way I was going to another room that they cleaned the tub out with a broom. My daughter and I had no choice but to stay there. It was late when we got there maybe almost 2 a.m. It was absolutely disgusting! I had prepaid for 2 nights. The next day we went into New York and got back very late. When we came back the beds were made but the sheets were not changed. I know this because, I accidentally spilled a little bit of coffee on my bed sheet and the stain was still there when we got back. Because the cleaning people were in my room, my daughter and I both decided that we would not bathe! We knew that they probably use a nasty broom with a towel on it to wash the tub with after washing the floor! The only reason that I am not saying it should get a 0 Stars and, it should only get one star is because, the people were very nice! Other than that, it's gross! Even the carpet was gross! We wore our sandals in the room the whole time. The beds were hard as rocks. The pillows were flat and hard. There were some sort of stains on the walls. Somebody took a napkin and tore a piece off of it to put through the holes in the curtains to keep them closed so people walking by couldn't see in. And the room was extremely small. On a positive note, they did have cameras. I felt my car would be safe there. They say you got what you payfor. Well, this room was not worth the $100 that I paid! They should not be charging more than $25...

The hotel charges $1.75 a night for the safe in the room (not advised on the website). The front door had to be “lifted” just to get the front door dead -bolt locked. The beds were so hard we had to look at the “mattresses”. It was 2 box springs with a “thin” padded layer on top, then the sheets & blankets were placed on the bed. The blankets on the beds had cigarette burn holes in them. The carpet was old & dirty. Housekeeping never vacuumed in the whole time we were there (the same crumbs on the floor when we arrived on day 1 were still there when we left on day 3). There was also tissues and other visible, thick dirt at the floor of the headboard of one of the beds that could have easily been cleaned had the housekeeper cleaned it from previous guests. We purposely placed a napkin on the floor on day 1 and it was still there on day 3. The beds were too big for the room. If they’d have left two full size beds it would have been easier to get around the room to the bathroom. The hair dryer didn’t work because the outlet was burnt out. We couldn’t move it to another outlet because it was bolted into the wall. The ceiling tiles in the bathroom were not cut-to-size so there were “holes” in the ceiling. The toilet had not been cleaned properly the entire stay. You couldn’t set the heater any higher than 78, so during our stay, coming in from outside when the temp was 32 & lower, it wasn’t really warm in the room, AND it kept blowing cold air more than warm/hot air. The shower-head needed to have the washer changed because if you tried to adjust it, water would spray out and get the entire bathroom wet. The coffee & condiments in the room were not replenished after the first day. The toaster only “half” worked in the continental breakfast. The front desk, housekeeping & staff was REALLY nice & helpful when we asked for directions and how to get around. They had a good variety of stuff for the continental breakfast. The large flat-screen tv in the...

The staff are always helpful. The manager, Peter Gandhi is always ready to solve any problem with dignity and courtesy. The rooms were remodeled recently. The bathrooms have beautiful tile on the walls. The heating is excellent and the cleaning staff always does a wonderful job! There is a quick breakfast offering of lite choices and the coffee is excellent! A very good buy for the money! Oh and the beds are wonderful! By the way the water is nice and hot!!!!The area is peaceful and handy to the highway. There is a 7/11 just blocks away, a Dunk'in Donut on the same block, a great burger place, White Manna that is unique and a gas station convenience store within a short walk! The "2" bus ($3 pay on bus) or $2.55 exact change or a ticket at Journal Sq. Station, from Journal Square, stops one block past Tonnelle Ave. and one must walk it back to Tonnelle and make a right and there is Dunkin Donuts and Rodeway next to it. Not one bug problem ever! The super accessible location and parking lot do not make this motel noisy. In fact it is a very peaceful spot! If you have a car the Jersey Heights street of Central Avenue has a Stop and Shop a, a new McDonald's and great selections of Italian, Chinese and Hispanic fast food as well as all kinds of convenience stores. There is plenty of parking too and mass at St. Nicholas of Myra. There is also a noon mass M-Fri. at St. John the Baptist in Journal Sq. area on J.F.Kennedy Boulevard in the chapel. Most taxis from Journal Square will charge you anywhere from 10$ to 15$ with tip(15 per cent) If you join the Choice Hotels Rewards Program online, you receive points for stays and much more. I also add that the manager is far more accommodating and fair than at other Choice...
