Venus Salon — Attraction in Jersey City

I always go here because of Stephanie she always do a great job, but this time I went and she wasn’t there so I had to get service from this old lady who I thought will do good because ofc the salon hired her for some reason but boy I was wrong, she messed up my hair she was very unprofessional, I told her how much to cut but she ended up cutting way more then I said and I’m very upset and mad because I took months to grow my hair very long and plus this old lady was putting so much heat (which I can still feel it in my scalp)in my hair without a heat protector and she didn’t even put leave in conditioner or oil til I had to tell her that you are ruining my hair pls put a heat protector and also when she was washing my hair I told her the water was hot but she proceeded to keep putting hot water. I don’t like this lady I didn’t have a good experience with this old lady. This old lady even cut my mom hair very uneven and made it way short too. This old lady is old and u can tell she’s old so if anyone go please ask for Stephanie if u want good service but this old lady not it. It was a very bad experience and now I have to wait months for my hair to grow longer because of her. The men side they cut my brothers hair very good I was happy with my brothers result but my mom and my hair the old lady messed it up. Please Venus salon hire a professional stylist don’t rely on...

I used to come here exclusively because of the good price but I had a poor experience with the last person who cut my hair. I requested several times to get it cut shorter but she refused saying I have beautiful hair and I should keep it long. Again I asked for it shorter and she refused and I felt too shy/awkward to ask again - I figured as a professional she would know best. But now that I think back it was not professional to do that and I regret making the journey out there because I will need to get another haircut somewhere else to fix it to get the shorter length I asked for. She also used an extreme amount of heat on my hair which was so much that I felt pain on my face from the hot hair falling down on my face. I was too shocked to say anything. It must have been the same person where other reviews are also complaining about the person using excessive heat and her not listening to customer requests.

Unfortunately I will need to go to a more expensive place from now on. I really regret coming here and wasting several hours of my weekend to make the journey out to journal square. Please do better and let this person go if she is giving customers so...

I was visiting my sister over the weekend & my mom wanted a haircut. So my sister made an appointment & I took my mom for haircut. Since I was new to the area & location, I didn’t know about the price rate. I just assumed since my sister goes here it must be reliable & good place. I was going to get a haircut too, but I wanted to see how they handle my mom first. We got there on time for our appointment. The lady cut & blow-dry my mom’s hair & charged $60. I was surprised. Usually it’s about $30-$35 when I go to my reg hair salon in my home town. Upon questioning, the stylist goes that’s their rate for hair cut and blow-dry. I was shocked. Mind you my mom’s hair are very short, so there was hardly any styling needed for blow dry. It was just to see how it looks when dried. So I get home & ask my sister. She was like she just got hair done there 3 weeks ago for $25... very unprofessional place. Not trustworthy at all. Especially to new clients. I would recommend other places in town rather...
