This place is a big disappointment, its horrible and my family and I hated it. First, the service is not good. After we ordered, we waited over an hour for the food to come. They said that water is to be bought and is not served for free. Same with the bread, you get bread only if you ordered a main course. Although, if you didn't order a main course, you have to pay in order to get bread, if you want. Second, the food tasted horrible. Some of my family members, including me, have a very low spice tolernece, but in our food, 95% of it was spicy, very spicy. They also put a TON of spices in the food because they know the fish is bland and has no taste, so they try to save it by putting a lot of spices, and now our stomachs hurts. Third, the prices on the receipt are completely different than what was on the menu, meaning that they are over charging us for food that isn't even that good. Fourth, apparently you have to call them and reserve before even coming into the restaurant, and you also have to call them an hour and 30 before going if you want sangaria. Fifth, the bathroom is very disgusting, the place where you do your business is very small. Its also not clean and its very disturbing. I most definetely do not recommend this...

I used to love, love, love this place but after my last two visits. I've come to the conclusion, it's taken a turn for the WORST. I Placed my order Sea bass and brown rice. I parked in front and called to confirm it was finished. I was told yes, its ready. I walk in and guess what, nope it wasn't. I personally think she gave my order to Egyptian man in front of me. I watch pick up his fish with her bare hands👀, so needless to say i was okay with not getting that one. When I inquire about my order, I can see her using her hands again...WHERE ARE THE GLOVES? I asked how much longer but language barrier quickly became annoying, frustrating and just intolerable. I asked how much longer after another 10min. She told me to pay now, 2min. I then saw the other lady press the fish with her bare hands. It was giving my stomach a sick feeling, to watch this nasty way of handing food. I trusted my gut and walked the hell out of there Hungry. I'd rather starve, than take a chance on getting Typhoid eating there.

Very disappointing watching the decline of this place. The kitchen looks filthy, pots and pans look unwashed and the service is at an...

I'd heard about Morgan for quite some time, as it's more or less the highest rated place in the area of Jersey City I lived in. I'd never heard of Egyptian fish places being a thing, and being hungry one night I made the trek over. Nobody here really speaks much English but they are very nice. I had called in my order in advance for takeout, and it wasn't ready when I arrived. I have no clue why it took so long, but I didn't complain seeing as they wouldn't understand me and I didn't have much else to do at the time. After being in a staring contest with their fish case for 30 minutes, I got my food and headed home. When I finally got it, the fish with rice was enjoyable. They used tilapia and grilled it very well; the rice was also large and tasty, although the shrimp had an odd flavor to them and they went overkill on the seasoning. For $7, this was a huge container of food that I was able to portion into dinner and also lunch the next day. That's a tremendous value, and I think that's why the reviews are so great on here. If you want a authentic ethnic meal, this is the real deal; just make sure you have...

Fried calamaris we're delicious, fresh. It had some cumin on it, that brought the flavor up! Loved it! Linguine with seafood mix...hmmm... I'm pretty positive that kind of noodles wouldn't be called linguini, it was too thin, close to Vietnamese thin noodles. Beside its confusing name, dish was mild spicy, but delicious!!! Charcoal grilled branzino was on point, really good dish. And yes, I have to mention tahini, that was sooo good. I wish I had more)) P.S. keep in mind, if you order full fish, there is a market price, therefore price on the menu will be different than in receipt. Branzino was 17.99 on the menu, but because of market price we ended up paying 21.99. And also, it will take time for dishes to arrive, so don't come in rush.

I ordered takeout over the phone and got the Grilled Brazino Meal. Food was ready in 35 min, but by the time I got there it was still being prepped. The Brazino came with a salad, pita, tahini sauce, and brown rice. It was a pretty big portion, a whole fish (with bones in) plus all these aides! Fish was tender, and the meat was juicy. The skin was coated with herbs and was crunchy. There was a kick to the fish, since on think peppers were added. Note that it looks like online takeout prices look to be different than what you can get when you call in. This was a nice little hidden gem in the neighborhood I hope to come back to try some of their other seafood dishes.

Great service and etiquette, they helped us choose because they wanted us to enjoy our meal. The fish was fresh, well-seasoned, and perfectly cooked. The calamari tajin was rich and full of flavor. The sides—baba ghanoush, sweet tahini, sayedya rice, salad, and warm bread, all made our meal even better. What made their place truly special was the kindness of the staff. They treated us with warmth and even accommodated us outside their work hours, because we came late from another state, which we really appreciated. The hospitality was amazing, and we will definitely be back! Thank you so much!
