This is a honest review from my perspective coming from a fellow believer in Christ going on 13 years now.
First time guest and the parking situation took me by surprise. I wasn’t expecting their parking situation to be so problematic. I arrived in the parking lot area about 15 minutes before service started. I was told by the officer that was directing traffic that the church lot was full. The next option was the lot next to the church or the school down the street and from there the shuttle will pick you up to bring you to the church or you can just walk to the church.
Once I was inside they were escorting people to rooms with tv’s to watch the service. It took me by surprise because I’ve visited different churches in the Houston area but have never been in this type of situation. I was so uncomfortable and wanted to leave but decided to stay because I could tell the presence of God was there. No one told us what was going on or why we were being escorted to these rooms but I assumed because the sanctuary was packed already. My sister and her husband were meeting me there but we ended up in different rooms because we came at different times. She texted me soon after praise and worship and said they felt so uncomfortable and couldn’t focus so they decided to leave. She said kids were making noise in their room which contributed to the problem. The rooms are not big at all about 8 rows of chairs touching each other which leaves no room for stretching to your right and left. You really can’t stand during praise and worship because the space is so small you will be in someone’s way.
I gave 1 star for the parking situation but give 5 starts to the Pastors of the church! I will go again because I know the presence of God is definitely there. I just have to go super early to try and get a more decent parking spot. One of the ushers said you have to arrive about 45 minutes to an hour before the 12pm service starts to be able to sit in the sanctuary. At that time you will be in the waiting area. I’m going to try it out next Sunday and see.
Being that this situation is not normal, I wish people were made aware of this type of arrangement so they wouldn’t be caught off guard when visiting for the first time.
If they have a building fund I would love to...
Read moreFor the Word alone and the leaderships impact on my life through social media I am leaving 5 stars. Attending live my issues are: -parking (those of us traveling in need to have clearer information on website or online) -youth ministry (not sure there is one) -technical issues when I attended
I moved to Houston from Atlanta as ofJan 2023 and this church was my 1st stop to find a church home in the area. I will preface this by saying I am a single mom to an 11yo son so it is imperative that both my son and I be spiritually nourished and find a ministry we can actively sow into through ministry. My 1st time attending was a little overwhelming. It was the 2nd Sunday of the New Year and parking was nearly non-existant. The parking attendants were all smiling and nice but not very helpful at all with explaining alternative options. After being turned around 3 times a group of cars started parking at a school about a half mile away. I was dedicated to attending and hearing the word so I stuck with it and followed suit. The attendants were super nice with directing us off the road for the walk and into the parking lot but my son and I had to walk by decomposing roadkill to get there. I was unbothered but my son wasn't happy about it at all 😑. We get to the church and we are kindly routed into a room with chairs and TV. There was no youth service to be mentioned or advised of so again my son was looking at me like "Really mom 🙁". So we sit and attend the service from a small room. The volume was off but it was fixed. The visuals on the TV were from the YouTube not a live feed into the room of the actual sermon so when YouTube went out so did our view in the room. We ended up going into the sanctuary and standing on the wall. The Word from Pastor Jerry was potent and life changing 🙌🏾🔥. He is a very "present" and relatable Pastor...the love of Christ eminates off of him and even his lovely mother The 1st Lady who was on hand to make sure everything went right with those of us in the back room. I wanted this to be my church home SOOO BADDD and wanted my son to love it too but that didn't happen. I have to think of both me and my sons spiritual needs and stick to attending online...
