As with any used car purchase, be careful. Get the car inspected by YOUR mechanic prior to purchase. I was told several times it had been inspected and there were no engine or trouble codes. The vehicle I purchased from Houston Auto Land had issues on the drive home. Tire pressure monitoring failure, dead battery, water pump failure, a transmission trouble code, and the roof was rusted through under the luggage rack. All these issues came up the first 4 days I owned the car. They did refer me to their "body guy" that works out of a storage lot to fix the roof, for another $250. I was told by their person that the vehicle should go to a body shop because it was unsafe and the roof had no structural integrity left. He was then instructed by the dealership to smear epoxy in the channel to keep it from leaking. Didn't remove the rust, didn't do anything besides put a bandage on the problem and tell me "never use the rack on the roof, if you put something up there the roof will fall in." The transmission engine code was next, again referred to his mechanic and was told, "I don't do that, he needs to send you to a transmission shop." The failed torque converter repair was another $800 and they said the transmission had multiple problems and would need to be replaced, likely in the next few months. Water pump was the following week. They again sent me to their mechanic that didn't show up for work that morning. Couldn't leave as the water pump literally fell off the car when I got there. 4 hours waiting for their mechanic to come to work, 2 to fix the problem, $400 for labor and $175 for the water pump later it was fixed and I was late for work. I went back to them and requested that they purchase the car back from me for $2000 less than I paid. We could part on good terms and he could benefit from the repairs so far, they declined. Less than 6 months after spending $13500 on a car and multiple repairs, the transmission is shot, $5000 to replace it. They also said the engine was leaking oil and would not make another 10000 miles. Nothing left to do but trade in my not running car and start over. Any used car is a risk. Limit your risk by getting the car checked first. When I requested an inspection report from my mechanic, it cost me $100. If I had done that before the purchase, it would have saved me nearly $17000 total. I was trusting. I was stupid. Be...
Read moreI HIGHLY recommend going to the people at Houston Auto Land! I searched all kinds of places looking for a used vehicle that was in good condition, had low mileage, & fair pricing. I chose to do business with them because this place had something that every big name dealership within a 100 mile radius lacked- INTEGRITY! I went to a lot of dealerships & called even more places before I found this gem. The Manager, who’s name is Tony, made the process so easy & straightforward from the beginning. He is a good & honest man. He was transparent & fair with pricing. He gave me time & space to check out the vehicles I was interested in. He answered all of my questions & didn't try to upsell me. He could have taken advantage of a situation where I had made an error with the payment purchase of the vehicle, but he didn't! And I am so thankful!!! I don't believe that any other place would have done this. I also want to add that the upholstery job that was done through Tony was done amazingly. We’re still using his services & will be coming here to buy our next vehicle.
Side Note: I learned a lot through the process of my search for a vehicle. I did a lot of research & asked a lot of questions! I also had several prebuy inspections done. One of the most important factors was involving God in the process with prayer. I did not waver in my decisions because I had made up my mind before I went in to any dealership what I was willing & not willing to do. I am thankful that I’ve got amazing family & friends that helped me gain confidence along the way. Every place I went looked straight to my face, smiled, & lied while pretending to empathize with my frustration. Once they've sat you down & gained enough trust, they slither around like shrewd snakes to extract as much information as they can to seduce you into financing a vehicle at the highest price they can get you to pay ($3,000-$5,000 more than advertised) even when you've previously expressed what you...
Read moreDO NOT PURCHASE FROM HERE. Updated review… This place has the worst service possible. They sold me a car that had keyless entry. I drive 2 minutes after purchasing and find that it’s not working. They told me it was working before. So I take it to Kia to find out this car can only be manually locked and does not have the ability to have a fob. They sold me a car that has keyless entry which doesn’t even have the ability to have keyless entry?? Also as I’m driving home from purchasing the car I find my headlights don’t work. Houston Auto Land take it to a mechanic and tell me it is the body control module. Houston Auto Land order me a new part to fix it. Firstly, they buy a second hand part not new. Secondly, the guy at Houston Auto Land puts a new bulb in and after a week I find the bulb was put in wrong and had actually melted. So now I have had the car over a month, it has no keyless entry and never will, and my headlight still does not work even after receiving the part. This car had no accidents reported and they did not make me aware of any of these issues before purchasing. I cannot drive the car at night at all. The guy even told me he would just watch YouTube videos on how to fit the bcm??? This place is a joke. They have told me I cannot return the car as if I sell it back to them I will lose money as they would have to purchase for a price they can make a profit from. They miss sold me a product and have ignored my calls for the past 3 days to fix this issue. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM HERE.
Great service, they worked with me to help find what I wanted at a good price. As a first time buyer they didn’t try and push things on me I didn’t want. George was...
