Sankranti is not a place I would recommend anyone host an event.
We held an evening event on a Saturday evening and had booked the largest hall at Sankranti several months in advance. Initially, we were in contact with Sam, who was extremely helpful—always responsive, transparent, and clear about what to expect. One of the main reasons we chose Sankranti was because catering was included, but we were allowed to bring in our own drinks. We were informed we’d need to bring our own cups for the bar, which was fine, and that plates and silverware would be provided for dinner. Unfortunately, the silverware turned out to be plastic, which did not match the level of formality we had planned for. Closer to the event, things began to unravel. About 15 days before, we unexpectedly found out—only after my husband called to ask a question—that Sam was no longer there and Prashant would be taking over. From that point on, communication became incredibly difficult. The last two weeks leading up to the event were unnecessarily stressful due to the lack of responsiveness from management. A couple of days before our event, we were informed that another party had been booked in the same hall earlier in the day. We were told this wouldn't affect us, as we’d have access to the hall by 3:15 PM so our decorator could set up before 5pm. However, the party before ours ran over, and the decorator wasn’t able to get in on time. This delay falls squarely on the venue’s management, who failed to coordinate properly. We had also hired a professional photographer to capture important moments before the event began. Because of the delay in accessing the hall, we lost valuable time and were forced to improvise, taking photos outside—in a poorly maintained parking lot. This was incredibly disappointing and definitely not what we envisioned. We had arranged for a dessert table with outside desserts and were told a table and linen would be provided, and we’d just be responsible for setup. However, the table and linen didn’t arrive until 4:45 PM—after multiple calls from my husband to Roy, who was supposedly sharing responsibilities with Prashant. Roy claimed he had forgotten his phone, which was extremely unprofessional and added to the already mounting stress. To make matters worse, when it came time to finalize payment, there was barely any acknowledgment or compensation for all the delays and mismanagement. Not even $85 could be deducted from the final bill. Roy said he couldn’t even get in touch with Prashant himself. Being 7 months pregnant at the time, dealing with all of this chaos and last-minute scrambling, all while trying to focus on our event. The lack of organization, poor communication, and sheer indifference from Sankranti’s management made this one of the most stressful experiences...
Read moreMy wife and I booked Sankranti for our wedding and reception for 150 guests. The facility itself is a little dated and could use some updating (especially for a wedding) but Roy and his staff did a great job facilitating all our requests.
Sankranti also provided the catering for the event and we received many compliments from our guests about how good the food was. Overall it was a very good experience and we would consider using Sankranti again...
Read moreI just wanted to thank you so much for the wonderful food prepared for my son’s graduation party. Everyone really enjoyed everything, and your team delivered the food by the time promised. I also appreciated your quick responses when I initially reached out to place my order.
The only request I have is that the packing be better. The Channa Masala leaked a lot.
I look forward to reaching out again for...
