2 STARS -- IGNORE THE "4+" STAR RATING TOTAL--- When I order Chinese - I expect 4 things
A. There is a part I love B. There is a part I need to cook more C. There is a part I will throw away after I realize it's not good D. There is a part that didn't show up based on the description
I had high hopes for this place based on prior reviews.
You can politely ignore all previous reviews and look at a very current one.

I had 3 parts A - it arrived and it was Chinese. It had a very unique sweet'n'sour sauce for the Chicken. Onion with Pineapple kind of dichotomy - very unique and good.
I had 3 parts B - Crab Ragoon was doughy - very doughy, Sesame Chicken on first bite was "different" and "burnt" tasting so my wife and I considered it a unique dish at first. Sweet 'n' Sour Chicken looked good and tasted good "in places".
I had 2 parts C - Sesame Chicken and Sweet 'n' Sour chicken was chewy - 1/3 parts chewy - 1/3 parts good - 1/3 parts I started throwing it in the trash can.
I had 1 part D - The most obvious description on the planet when it comes what to expect is....drum roll please....CHOCOLATE SUGAR DONUT. What I received was, initially, confused by my wife as sweet'n'sour chicken knots. I later informed her it was probably donut knots. And then we couldn't find the sugar, and then, sure as soy sauce looks like chocolate in a packet, she immediately said "at least they gave us chocolate!". NOPE. No chocolate and I question the sugar part. The dough was good though - but not a donut - just the knot or "not" of the donut.
I am not joking as to how this meal was a huge waste of money. It was an "epic 3 pizza hut's lost in space kind of loss of money".
I never joke with reviews as they mean something to the employer, the employee, the deliverer, and the owner.
This meal was a waste - but, as you can see above, not a completely total waste. I had a chance to cook the crab ragoon in the toaster oven on convection bake for 10 minutes, I had a chance to witness a truly different sweet 'n' sour chicken sauce (which is actually very good - minus the chewy chicken), and I had ample reason to take out the trash.
It was at least different.
And I like the unique taste of the sweet'n'sour sauce. It was really good - TRULY.
But
Also, it was an $89 order.
Depends on what you want I guess.

Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Sunshine II, a delightful Chinese restaurant that exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a friendly staff that made me feel right at home. One particular standout was Issac, who went above and beyond to ensure my dining experience was top-notch.
Stopping by for a quick lunch, I opted for General Tao's Chicken, and it was absolutely delicious. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the chicken was tender and succulent. It was clear that the chefs at Sunshine II take great pride in their culinary expertise.
To complement my meal, I ordered the Hot & Sour Soup, and it instantly transported me back to the authentic flavors I remember from my travels in China. The soup had just the right amount of heat and tanginess, leaving me thoroughly satisfied.
Another highlight of my meal was the freshly fried Spring Roll. The crispy exterior gave way to a delightful mix of vegetables and savory fillings. It was evident that attention to detail was given to every aspect of this dish, resulting in a delectable appetizer.
Overall, my experience at Sunshine II was nothing short of fantastic. The combination of friendly staff, particularly Issac's helpfulness, and the delicious dishes I enjoyed made it a memorable dining experience. If you're in search of an authentic Chinese restaurant with a warm ambiance and mouthwatering cuisine, I highly recommend paying a visit to...
Read moreSun Shine II is without question the #1 Chinese restaurant in Alpharetta. Our family has been coming here for over 15 years, and it has remained our go-to spot because the food is consistently top quality. Every dish is prepared fresh, served hot, and packed with authentic flavor that keeps us coming back again and again.
The menu has all the classics—General Tso’s chicken, sesame chicken, beef with broccoli, sweet & sour chicken, lo mein, and fried rice—but what sets them apart is how perfectly balanced everything tastes. The portions are generous, the ingredients are always fresh, and the flavors never feel heavy or greasy. Their dumplings and egg rolls are must-tries, and every entrée is cooked with care and consistency.
Beyond the food, the service is fast, friendly, and reliable. Whether dining in or taking out, the staff treats you like family and makes sure every order is done right. The restaurant is clean, welcoming, and has the kind of neighborhood charm that makes you feel at home.
After more than 15 years of dining here, I can confidently say no other Chinese restaurant in the Alpharetta area compares. Sun Shine II is truly the gold standard and will always be our...
