Candy House Gourmet — Attraction in Joplin

A wide variety of chocolates and other sweets! All of the chocolate is made at this store and you could spend hours trying to decide what to try! Luckily there is a sample area so you can try something new. There is a small section of sugar free chocolates on a shelf to the left as you walk in the front door. Prices are a bit high, but if you want good chocolate you gotta pay a little more! My kids loved the Jelly Belly bulky candy wall. There are so many to choose form and they can mix and match! They recommend the 7UP and A&W root beer flavors. The Candy House is close not to far from main street in downtown Joplin, and if you are in the area, you need to stop in and look around! I have been coming to the Candy House for years to get my Christmas goodies. When they stopped selling sugar plums, the store lost some of its magic for me. I also can’t get my pear jelly belly’s or cinnamon bears anymore, which is disappointing, but the sugar plums….PLEASE BRING BACK THE SUGAR PLUMS!!! Thank goodness they still have English toffee, which is the absolute best in my opinion and Missouri walking sticks, or I wouldn’t have a reason to keep coming back. Also I noticed when it was Richardson’s Candy House, I could have gone in a couple days before Christmas and would find all my goodies…now I have to make sure I’m there a couple weeks before to make sure I get what I need or they will be out….never the toffee, they always have toffee, but they would have been out of walking sticks. The younger staff has always been more friendly than the older staff, which I’m used to, so that doesn’t bother me so much, but you would think the amount of money you spend( because it is crazy expensive), that it would make them a little happier and...

I absolutely love Candy House Gourmet! This charming local shop offers a fantastic variety of chocolates, candies, and popcorn, all made fresh in-store. Every time I visit, I’m amazed at the selection and quality of their gourmet treats. They have the most delicious chocolates, and right now, they even have the cutest Easter chocolate lollipops—such a fun touch for the season! The staff is incredibly friendly and always willing to help. They make you feel welcome and are always ready to recommend something new.
