Edit: If your thinking about visiting for the first time, bring shade! We love coming here to swim. We get the season pass because of how often we swim. My only complaints are life guards yelling at you before they get the whole story and the length of time standing without shade for the concessions (also, lack of shade in general.) We were in line for 45 minutes the other day. I try to be patient, they are just kids running it. I feel like an adult should be in there helping.
The deal with the life guard, he yelled at me to get my daughters life jacket back on. I knew it was okay for her to take it off so I asked, “why?” And then he snidely/sarcastically said, “uh, cause she could drown!” I instantly got upset and said, “she’s my daughter, I’m not going to let her drown!” I should have just raised her hand and shown him the watermark that shows she can go in without a life jacket/adult. Cause then he yelled at me again to put it back on. Then I said, they told me at the front desk that she doesn’t have to wear one. That’s when another supervisor looking lifeguard came and asked her to show him her hand. Then he said “it’s okay, she’s okay.” A lot of confusion, fear and embarrassment could have been avoided if he had just asked me why I was taking off her life jacket or better yet, let me see her hand! Power tripping isn’t a good look for the place. A lot of the other guards are really sweet and nice so that is why I’m still giving 4 stars. Despite that I would recommend. They even updated the showers so you don’t have to stand in a circle around a...
Read moreThe rules for watching your children seem to only apply to some and not all. I’m sure lifeguards try and do their best but also some just stare off into the distance. NUMBER ONE DISAPPOINTMENT IS WE HAVE NOW HAD 3 ITEMS STOLEN WHILE SWIMMING THERE! LAST WEEK IT WAS MY 4 YEAR OLDS ONLY BUT MOST FAVORITE PAIR OF PINK & BLUE CHILDRENS GOGGLES! I REPORTED IT , I EVEN FOUND THE 2 WOMEN & THE CHILD WHO DID IT, THE CHILD EVEN STARTED TO WEAR MY DAUGHTERS GOGGLES! I ALSO WENT NICELY AND ASKED THEM ABOUT THE GOGGLES, I LET THEM KNOW MY CHILD JUST HAD HERS TAKEN A MOMENT AGO, ONE OF THE WOMEN CHOSE TO DENY DENY , BUT WHEN I ASKED THE YOUNGER GIRL FIRST ABOUT THEM SHE SAID NO ,THEY WERE NOT HERS, AS THE WOMAN CUT THE LITTLE GIRL OFF FROM CONTINUING HER SENTENCE(telling the truth) . AS THEY SWAM AND FLOATED AROUND AFTER THIS THE 2 WOMEN LAUGHED IT OFF AS THE 1 CONFESSED TO THE OTHER THEY WERE NOT HER DAUGHTERS & THAT THEY HAD PICKED THEM UP OFF OUR TOWEL. I NOTIFIED THE WATERPARK. …WARNING TO ALL OTHERS KEEP YOUR BELONGINGS VERY CLOSE OR EVEN HIDDEN OR HARD TO GET TO/OPEN THERE ARE SOME “EVERYDAY LOOKING CITIZENS” THAT ARE THIEVES ,HAVE NO MORAL COMPASS & LACK HONESTY! WHAT A CRAPPY PARENT TO TEACH THEIR CHILD STEALING AND TAKING FROM OTHERS IS OKAY AND LAUGHABLE! HOW GROSS! DO BETTER FOR...
Read moreVery confusing rules. Our 8 year old swimmer has to take a swim test where he was required to front stroke (with form) across the entire length of the pool. While our 8 year old is a decent swimmer, he has never been taught a proper front stroke. Because he was unable to swim with his feet in the water doing the front stroke across the pool, and needed to come tread water for a moment to breath - so he was forced to wear a life vest for the day - and prohibited from the water slides. He hasn't had to wear a life vest in over two years - he can swim. So, we went to get the life vest, except there were not enough left. Awesome. We then saw a sign that said if his chest was 42 inches, he could go sans vest and use the slides. He missed the 42 inch mark on his chest (pretty arbitrary) by less than 1/2 an inch. We were forced to spend the day in the lazy river - because there were no vests - and didn't have a proper breast stroke (but he can swim. FOR REAL). And finally... there is no shade. It was nut-to-butt crowded on a 92º Tuesday, the kid was forced to wear a life vest, and it was shadelessly...
