I've used Super 1 city center as my default grocery store for 15+ years. Mainly for convenience having a property on the East Side Avenues and only being a few blocks away. Super 1 customer service and employee interactions have gotten odd and inappropriate for the last year.
All the self checkouts being 12 items or less, seems to defeat the purpose of transitioning the public to use them. Half of the checkers on the other stands are slow and honestly with self checkouts being a new standards for their convenience and limited interaction, seems counter productive
Unless they are closely monitoring self check outs for different perimeters, the staff tends to make you uncomfortable for using them. Especially when self checks outs are unoccupied, all the other check outs have long lines and you have more than 12 items ans you are using them.
I don't see the issue if all the self check puts are empty, no one is wanting to use them and you're scanning more than 12 item quickly.
Today at 11:30 8/20/202 the employee over seeing the self checkouts. Female, young with a high bun kept asking me and my elementary age son questions as if she implied that we didn't pay for 2 chicken tenders at the deli when the receipt was sitting on top of the bag.
"For future reference, management is really cracking down on the 12 items or more. It's ok this time, but next time if you have more than 12 items, you'll need to use the other check outs".
I scanned 2 large items but didn't bag them and set them in the cart. She comes back over. Her :"Are these mine?" Pointing to the irems not bagged in the cart Confused me: "They don't fit in a bag. Do you want me to try to bag them?"
Terrible interaction and makes me question, why I continue to shop here.
Super 1: screening people who use the self check outs like they are...

Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place makes me SUPER angry. Each time we go there they can't figure out how to use WIC. For those who don't know WIC stand for Women Infant Children and essentially gives a benefit for groceries on essentials like cheese, bread, and eggs. It is really helpful to mothers who cook and prepare meals for themselves, possibly their husbands and the demands of children all throughout the day. I buy essentials as well as other items on a regular basis. Whenever I go to this store they struggle ringing it up.
While the store has awesome selections I. The meat market, cherries available as well and friendly staff it makes me really mad that this has happened on at least 3 situations. I don't think I really want to go back to this store even though I love the poultry and many of the other selections I am tired of holding up lines while their machines cant recognize specific...
