Michaels was great as always.
This was my first time going in since the Coronavirus started. There was quite a bit on clearance, as expected, which was nice. Social distancing was done at the registers as well as employee face masks and plexiglass barriers at the registers.
I originally went in looking for Zebra Mildliner brush pens. They didn't have a spot for the full set, but they did have some singles. I think I'll wait and get the set, which will be cheaper. I tried getting them at Target, which had a tag for the set, but they were out of stock. So, zero for two. They do have a great selection of the Tombow marker brush pens, so if I needed to get something like that right away I could. I know the set I wanted is less popular and not carried as often for brush pens.
I ended up getting watercolor and marker lettering pads on clearance as well as some Jane Davenport washi/journal tape.
I didn't see any employees in the store besides the person at the register, but that could be because some were on break, in a different part of the store, or I was too busy looking at all of the arts and crafts amazingness.

On top of that, like any art store the pencils and pens are all scattered about and disorganized by the random assortment of messy plebeians you come to expect. The staff, however, dose a gold job keeping the chaos to a minimum. They are warm, friendly and helpful.
But the bottom, if you are a serious artist looking for you tools and supplies, just go to Blick homie. But if you need just one little pencil or a pen or are getting stuff for your kids presentation at school then this place...
Read moreWent here searching for some faux greenery for our wedding. We had been to all of the Michael's stores in KC trying to get enough. This Michael’s didn’t have any as they had put away a section of the greenery for seasonal items. An incredibly nice employee (I wish I had gotten her name but I do remember her tag said she had worked there for like 8-10 years) called the Lawrence store (the one place we hadn’t been) and had them check and hold the four they had. She even told the employee at the Lawrence store she was going to let their DM know how helpful they had been! What a kind individual who is truly dedicated to her job-recognizing others when she’s going the extra...
