Hanalei Valley Lookout — Attraction in Kauai

The long-awaited viewpoint site for the Hanalei National Wildlife Refuge will be open beginning Tuesday, April 30, 2024.

The site will be open to the public from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday, except on Federal Holidays.

Absolutely stunning! Hanalei Valley Lookout offers a breathtaking view of Kauai’s lush landscape, with its vibrant taro fields and the mountains in the background. It’s the perfect place to stop, take a few photos, and just appreciate the beauty of the island. The colors, especially around sunrise or sunset, are incredible! This is a beautiful, scenic place. Watch for the signs because the parking is in a small area right next to the road. Needless to say, be careful when pulling in and out due to traffic. You will most likely see one of the ever-present roosters like the one below :) These photos were taken in 2015.
