Cute little outdoor space. The service was incredible. Accommodated to food sensitivities. Cleaned blenders, were attentive and kind.
The price is hefty for their portion size. The salmon and lox/cream cheese bagel was literally a "make it your own sandwich" DIY for an insane $20-21 & small portion. They had it all in plastic cups and just have it to us on a plate with a toasted bagel to assemble 😅
The acai bowl wasn't really a bowl, but actually a soft serve ice cream for breakfast. Not filling at all. I got the acai "bowl", no banana on top or in the base, sub mango in the base. Add cacao + mixed seeds in the base, do pineapple on top. No granola cause of no gluten free certification. The cup was not full at all like a typical acai bowl is, but like a soft serve scoop for a working $20.50, an insane cost! The pictures how empty the cup is.
Their kitchen closes for food 11:30am and their cafe closes 1:30. So 11:30-1:30 they are coffee mostly.
The cost is immensely high for portion size and for what it offers. I've been eating acai bowls all over the island for a whole week and none looked like this or had such a small portion and hefty price. Call it soft serve. Such an empty cup. I had to order another bowl from red hot mama's next door to...
Read moreThere are very few places in Princeville that are open for breakfast and this place is one of them. There is always a line forming from 10-15 minutes before they open. If you arrive right at opening, expect 10-15 people already waiting in line. It took us about 20 min to get to the counter to order. Despite the long queues the service seemed to be pretty quick and the wait time between ordering and getting your food was not that long. The staff are polite and work hard to get the orders out.
However, I sincerely feel that the prices they charge do not warrant the food they provide. This place is very pricy for what they offer. A short drive to Hanalei would get you significantly better food (both in terms of quality and quantity) for the same price. The portions are extremely small and a lot of cheaper produce items (such as potatoes) are used to fill up the bowls and plates. The food doesn't taste bad at all but it should taste better for the price.
Drive to Hanalei even if it takes an extra...
Read moreThe best place to get coffee, breakfast, and açaí bowls in princeville. Every time we come to the island we go here for breakfast and coffee here. Bonus, the staff are always pleasant and work really hard. There is plenary of covered seating. Compared to our last visit in 2017, in 2021 the line has gotten waaaay longer in the mornings. It seems others have caught wind of how good it is. If you’re in a hurry to grab something and go, this may not be the best spot for you. The food comes out relatively quick, however, the line takes a while. For example, we came 5min after they opened and were 9th in line. It took almost ~33min to get to the front and order. Expect to wait on average 3.5min per person in line to get to the front. As the staff is juggling multiple roles, the person taking orders has to do other things in between customers (like I said, they work really hard). If there is no line or you’re not in a rush, then there is...
