I'm giving Waimea Theatre 5 stars because it's perfect for what it is - a locally run, historic, small town movie theater. The seats are in good shape, the screen is as large as some multiplex screens, and the sound system is up to date. The best part, though, is the people are so friendly you feel like you're going to a party at a friend's house instead of just a movie.
Tip one: Arrive a half hour before showtime to grab seats in the two rows of large, comfy chairs that feel like a living room instead of a theater.
