I went to the childrens museum during an event they were holding, I found the event on Facebook. The flyer stated the event ran from 1030 am - 2 pm. I was rushed outside by an employee to participate in outdoor play within 10 mins of being inside. When we finished outside to go back inside apparently the museum was closed for “sanitation”. I was told to come back, but I had plans in the later afternoon which is why I was there in the morning because I couldn’t come back. As I was leaving, I saw all the employees leave for their lunch break instead of sanitizing. I left with a screaming toddler who barely got to enjoy any of the imagination play inside. Instead I drove over an hour to get there and paid 20$ for him to play with chalk that he plays with every single day. When I called to get my money back for a bogus play day, I was told that I was not going to get my money back but that they appreciated my feedback. I have NEVER had issues with this museum before, i love it here and so doesn’t my son. I was not aware that the summer fest event would also be closing mid day considering nowhere on their flyer for the event states that. I will not be returning and I suggest that anyone who goes there for an event realize that they do still close for a lunch break but they lie to you and tell you it’s for sanitation.
