This used to be a nice place several years ago when it really was an independent living 55+ apartment building. Then they had regular one year leases. That changed to a month to month "resident agreement" with a schedule of service and rates, where rates and rents can be raised anytime. Residents had to divulge all their personal financial assets. It turned into an assisted living facility, with loss of privacy. They can enter anytime without consent and make personal decisions for residents. A lot of residents left. It was like being driven out of your home, and this was during Covid 19! I don't believe the owner cares much about seniors. It's selfishness and greed. It's too bad. EDIT: The response below confirms this is not independent living. Independent adult living apartments have 1 year leases, not "resident agreements" that require your assets value/sources, securities, real estate, savings/certificate, trust funds, etc. The "resident agreement" that was to replace my 1 year lease, not signed by me because of invasion of privacy, that states "employees will attempt to give reasonable notice before entering when feasible" means you can't complain or call police for unlawful entry. I experience unlawful entry many times and complained to the owner more than once,...
Read moreBest decision we ever made. We moved my parents in in September. It was a huge life change for both of them because up until this point, they were living on their own and driving. However, due to life events, they could no longer live alone and could no longer drive. My sister and I both work and we do the best we can but taking care of my parents is a full-time job. We heard great things about St. Catherine's Commons Assisted Living so we went and checked it out and were amazed. We moved my parents in shortly after that visit and we are not disappointed. They take care of everything, very friendly, communication is great, we don't worry anymore. Yes, it has been an adjustment for my parents, but they are coming along and realize that this was in their best interest. Love, Love, Love the staff - especially Maria and Nurse Karrie and all the caregivers (we wish we knew all their names!). Again, best decision we ever made. It is so nice not to worry anymore. ...
Read moreBeautiful apartment. Great amenities in building, only one star due to nosiness of neighbors. If you are looking for privacy, this isn't it. They even took my packages from the mail room before I had been notified they were delivered. They brought them to me, then spread gossip that I can't get my own mail. Example, passenger in elevator with me commented on how many packages I had.She got off same floor, saw mail envelope by my door and said " she can't get her own mail." I had never met this woman, and I said to her, I live here, and I think I manage just fine. She stuttered and said I didn't know.. and I said no you don't know, but you gossip and spread rumors. It is things like that, that prevent me from being friendly with any of...
