Delco Park — Attraction in Kettering

Gorgeous park, with shelters that I believe (I've never tried) are reserveable for special occasions. The park has a nice walking/jogging track, nice view, and is a great place to play pokemon go if you're a fan, tons of stops and 3? gyms just near the water area. There's a bunch more stops and gyms around the whole park! They have a ton of parking, handicap parking as well. The park is huge and they have a basketball court, among other things, I'll have to go back and refresh my memory, then edit this post with photos of all they have there....probably in the spring though. The city of Kettering holds their fireworks over the water on the 4th, and they are incredibly beautiful, and huge, they look amazing, when you're sitting near the water! They get a live band have food trucks and random family fun during the 4th celebration. I love this park and visit it often. It's always clean, and I'm pretty sure they even go in at least once a week to wash the goose poo from the walking track. ... my only complaint? They supply doggie poo bags and trash cans all over the place, but some humans just don't care and are too lazy to clean up after their pets. Most do, but ...ugh. clean up after yourself and keep it a wonderful place! Leave no trace...

One of the best 4th of July fireworks shows in the Dayton, Ohio area. There is a quite a large crowd that gather's and we felt that most were very accommodating and friendly. The city police presence might have squashed problems before they began but we never witnessed any problems. A view of the staging area for the fireworks from across the pond gave twice the show in the waters reflection. The kids could play and have a great time while waiting for the show. There were plenty of food trucks, a stage with live music, and plenty of portable potties. The handicap parking was very close to the field and a large group filled the regular parking around the corner at Tennaco. We enjoyed it and will be...

I visit this park quite often as its the cloest nice park near my home. My son and I are here any time we can. We reserved a shelter today for his birthday party. Even though the weather was gloomy we had a wonderful time. The only reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because there was a huge beehive inside the shelters roofing and bees were everywhere during the party. I am all for saving the bees, but maybe check for things like this prior to a reservation as some people are highly allergic. And/or attempt to get the hive taken down and moved as carefully as possible.
