The Bar Time — Restaurant in Kettering

My kind of place! They've only been open a few months but they are doing it right. They specialize in craft beers and whiskey. They do have other spirits and wine for those not interested in the other. I ordered an old fashioned and it was spectacular. Made the way it should be. It was muddled and no syrup. My husband ordered a long island iced tea and said it was great. Must have been..he had 2. Service was friendly and attentive. Nick made sure we were taken care of. The bar stools are the most comfortable you will ever sit on. It's a very clean place, as well as the restrooms. Always a telling sign. I learned that the artwork on the walls is actually done by music artists. It was nice to stroll around to see who did what. This place has a great vibe. Music isnt blasting, it's a very comfortable level to allow for conversation without shouting. There are 4 dartboards, but requires that you bring your own darts. Food service is minimum at this point, but I know they are increasing their selections. It is more 'before and after dinner' fare. We didnt have any but what I saw looked great. Seems like the kind of place where "...Everybody knows your name" with friendly staff, and early on Friday night at least, inhabited by an older crowd. We were invited out by friends to their favorite watering hole, and while I don't frequent bars anymore it was a very pleasant experience. It's been several bars over the years, with the current one offering a very good selection of reasonably priced beers and a bartender (Looking at you, Nick!) that according to patrons can fix you any drink known to western civilization. Great place, has darts, pool, tvs, and patio. The drinks are well made and specialty drinks are great. The staff is very friendly, pleasant, and knowledgeable. They pay attention to the orders and know what goes well in drinks. Tip them well when you visit. The variety of available liquors makes choosing variations on favorites easy and fun. Great atmosphere. Highly recommend. Try the Dorothy Lane Lemonade. Very summery and light.
