Mavericks Cards and Comics — Local services in Kettering

I went in there for the first time this past Saturday. For me this shop is about 40 minutes from my home so I was excited to see it for the first time. First off when I walked in one employee greeted me from behind the desk/cabinet thing and I couldn't see him. It might sound like I'm being a little too much on that but to me a greeting is an important part to a first impression. 2nd I was probably in there 25 minutes before I could have someone help me to get something from the case, if they were busy that's one thing but including me it was probably 5-8 people in there. 3rd I over heard one of the employees talking to what seemed like a regular customer or a co-worker about one of their staff members getting complaints about customer service and how it's not going to be fixed with him and that. Honestly I just didn't think they should be addressing that out loud. 4th over all I did buy some stuff due to the fact you guys offered some stuff I wanted and being a 40 minute drive I did put want to leave empty handed. One thing that bugged me when I got home was the 3 Lego mini figures I bought had solid black pieces as heads! I paid 5 bucks a pop for them and they aren't even technically complete. Kinda bums me out. Needless to say I.l have to be in the area to stop by again. I will not make the drive down there just for that. my son & I love this place. not only do they have an amazing selection but they have tons of single cards you can specifically seek out for your collection and chances are if they don't have it now they will next week. even if it's rare. now Ultra rare may take 2 or more weeks but that's just the way it is. that's what makes cards "Ultra rare". they're hard to find thus creating it's high value and this place always pays fair prices as close to book value as possible. my son absolutely loves place and for me it's nostalgic so I hope it never goes anywhere and we all do our part to buy sell and trade! cards are a fun way to bond with your kids! and a way to teach them value, condition, and why you should take care of your investments. thanks mavericks for...

Good selection, but, God forbid you aren’t the only person in the store. I was ready and waiting to check out, while the guy on the computer didn’t notice me. However, when the next guy walked up front, he was more than happy to help him out. Even though the guy wasn’t even ready to check out, the employee went with him to find comic books while I was standing up there waiting. I didn’t even get any acknowledgment. It was so rude. This seems to happen to me there more often than not - one in the last few weeks time I was there for 30/45 minutes before I was even attended to, so I will take my business to friendlier shops.
