So much for 5 stars... After the new reno, i will not be making a comeback to this park. One of the closest to my house and was my favorite to take the dogs to. Now, it's just a shell of its former glory. The metal bridges through the trails really takes away from the beauty, dogs really dislike walking on them. The main park area is severely lacking, which i suppose is good because so is parking now. There used to be TONS of parking there, everyone parked at an angle, now, lucky to get a spot during peak times. This brings the sadness to major upgrade it got, a fenced dog park. DONT BOTHER!!!!! The gates were rickety, the main didnt even latch, dogs can just push them open. Speaking of getting out, many, and I mean MANY areas of the fenceline aren't even to ground. Because of where they placed the dogpark, you're finding yourself chasing around your dog, there is no clear area to see all of the park and with its fenceline, I will continue to...
Read moreReally a five star review, but why four at the end. This is a little gem of a hidden away dog park. For dogs it offers a figure 8 layout but with three loops instead of two. From a dog's point of view it is a nearly infinite walk and from a Hunan's point of view it is contained, well fenced with double gates to avoid any escape. The rest of the park is as you might expect with the exception of a newish boardwalk that parallel the creek which is great for keeping feet mud free and protects the creek. Why one star lost? The dog park is unfortunately built over land full of sub soil water sources and no drainage. For many months of the year it is a mud bog, so wellington boots advised. The dogs however love that even more and body slamming your human whilst covered in mud always gets a great reaction. Honestly a 4.5 star rating is deserved but not...
Read moreThis quaint park packs quite a lot of nature into such a little space. Hidden behind an open field is about a full mile of walkable trails for you and your pup. Sandwiched between an off leash dog park and a small river system are foot bridges and wild animals aplenty. Bring your waterproof boots if you like to take your pup on adventures where no dog has gone before - you can get pretty far up some parts of the river if you are willing to give your dog a bath afterwards. If you come early enough in the morning there is a friendly owl that hunts for fish at the same spot everyday. Beware those that let their dogs off leash before the designated area, more than a few times I had to reign in the dog I was training due to some two-leggeds not following the rules... you know...
