I had been eyeing the birrieria Tijuana cart for weeks, parked in the gas station lot near my home. I finally got the chance to try it out and I was not disappointed. The menu offers a variety of birria dishes, from tacos to quesadillas to burritos. I decided to go for a sampler of tacos: one hard, one cheese, and one soft, along with a side of consume (the broth that the meat is cooked in) and a refreshing agua de pina (pineapple water). I also love spice, so I asked for a side of chile torreados, which are grilled Serrano peppers. The tacos were amazing. The meat was tender and flavorful, and the tortillas were crispy and fresh. The cheese taco was especially gooey and satisfying. The consume was rich and savory, and dipping the tacos in it added another layer of deliciousness. The agua de pina was sweet and refreshing, and the chile torreados added a nice kick to the meal. The only thing I missed was some red salsa, as they only had green, and I prefer the spicier option. But that was a minor detail in an otherwise perfect meal. I highly recommend birrieria Tijuana to anyone who loves birria or wants to try something new. The food truck seems to be open 9a-9p, and the service is friendly and fast. The prices are reasonable, and the portions are generous. I can't wait to go back and try more items on the menu.

This is probably my favorite place for Mexican takeout! I've been to plenty of taquerias in a similar style, and I'm pretty sure the point of a birrieria is to be able to roll you home -- not only are all of the breads dipped in rich birria, but the strawberry agua fresca has cream in it, which I've never seen before. (It's delicious, though!) The portions are enormous, too -- I can usually finish even a large burrito in one sitting if I have a good apetite, but here, they're a good dinner for two nights. Also, my sister-in-law has a casein allergy and needs no dairy, and when I picked up our order they had marked all over the box to make sure we knew which was dairy-free, which I really appreciate! I do notice that their number has changed, so I'll try to get that updated online.

Having read such positive reviews about this Mexican food truck, we decided to give it a go for a new Takeout Thursday experience. After ordering our food, we had to wait ages for it all to be cooked. People came, ordered and ate, while we stood waiting for our order. When we got home, the food was cold (we live close by so this shouldn't have happened) and it was, for the most part, fairly bland. While we ate most of the food, it was because we were starving by the time we eventually made it home. We won't visit again and will stick with other takeout options in the same vacinity.

This is it. We finally stopped by and it was the best decision of the week! The birria meat is delicious across all dishes, soft with just enough bite for texture, flavorful with just a hint of smokiness. Spiced but not hot-spicy for the local crowd, thankfully they served some grilled seranos alongside our tacos that ramped up the heat. Green salsa was my fave, but the red had some good heat. We ordered waaay too much for 2 people: 3 cheese tacos, birria fries (absolutely covered in meat), and a birria torta. The torta was nearly the size of a dinner plate and was excellent as leftovers for lunch x2 (tip: remove lettuce+tomato, wrap in foil, put in 350 oven for about 30min, add back cold stuff and enjoy). We'll absolutely be...
