Well we just found this place and it turned into our favorite store,, we started our trading some stuff and getting store credit and at that point I thought it was really fair, one load between my wife and me netted around $850 ,,,, fast forward. This week carried another load only to see the other side... we carried better stuff and more of it. We both had a tote full of like new cds from star artists, one of blurays and one of dvds, this time or of the 6 totes the only took the 2 totes of cds for $100 each and have back all the blurays and dvds. None of this was junk. So after talking to an employee it gave me a better since of how this works.. first they will only buy things that they have low inventory of,, unless like us you bring them great stuff and they pay you less than penny's for it,,, and also depending on how many they have on hand seems to dictate how much they will pay so like today you might get a dollar for this movie and tomorrow they will only give you. .15c for it?? Also in my opinion,, the way they do the credit and rejects is bad business,,, first they ask if you want cash or credit then if you want the rejects. Had i known they basically stoled all the cds and none of anything else. I would have just took it all back and they could keep there credit. From now own I'll always ask to see my rejects before making my decision. Another thing that would be fair for people bringing in there stuff is knowing what they are buying on every given day,,, we drive over 1.5 hours just to get there,, had i known they would not take any blurays or dvds that day,, i would have just stayed at home. It should be posted on there web site each day what they are taking,,I know it wasn't just my stuff. I seen allot of people realizing the same thing. I will continue to shop there but I will be more aware in my transactions I know they have to make profits and I'm good with that. But these are not good business practices in my opinion,,, another example of fair,,, if you go find 3 of the same cd they will all be priced to same no matter the condition unless they are just junk. But for them buying your stuff they change the prices they are giving you depending on everything,,condition,,trending,,inventory,,,top sellers,,,etc. People should have some idea of what there own stuff is worth. Thanks for the read. Sorry so long but I would hope McKays reads this and makes some changes. Id love to hear from a employee or former employee that could confirm these...

Read moreA destination on it's own. Awesome store. If you've never visited here, plan on spending hours. Two floors packed with used CD's, DVD, games and huge selection of books. The facility is very clean and well maintained. Books and other merchandise is well organized and has dedicated sections for each genre. After you have made your purchase selections, checkout is very easy and efficient. McKay's actually has human employees working the checkout area (no self-checkout lanes here!) McKay's also buys used books, cd's, dvd's and other items. When you take used items to McKay's, you will be offered a store credit or cash. Naturally, the store credit has more value. My partner died in August 2024, leaving behind a collection of 250 cds. After researching the value of used cd's, I realized McKay's would offer the easiest, most efficient process for selling his used cd's. After the review process, McKay's accepted 182 cd's of my 250. However, the cash payout was a mere $60. Had I accepted the store credit, the credit value was $144. Unfortunately, since the cd's are part of an estate sale, I had to take the cash, in order to put cash into estate account. Therefore, please note, if you return used merchandise to McKay's, you will receive more value for your trade when you take a store credit. Regardless, McKay's is a lot of fun! Very pleasant, relaxed atmosphere. Expect large crowds, especially weekends. McKay's is very popular and you will have a lot of "company " when you shop. McKay's is family friendly, perfect...
