This spot only gets a four-star instead of a five-star rating due to lack of showers or anywhere to change a child or have them go to the restroom. The surf is pretty rough in this area (I literally had so many shells stuck in my swimsuit and impeded in my skin that I'm pretty sure it was an extra five or six pounds on me!), and the beach isn't quite as spacious as other places. Parking is very, very limited and expires at 5 pm, as opposed to other beaches we paid to park at and parking ended at 8 pm. There was some sort of vendor event going on at the park when we arrived and we planned to visit (and likely buy, since we run and participate in these at home, therefore support them in other places), but they had packed up and gone by noon, so we didn't really get a chance. The only place to rinse the kids off of their sand and shells to be able to sit comfortably in the car to leave, was a tiny square with a hose attached. We were trying to change them behind a towel (they are small, young kids) and it was tricky! This beach would be great for surfers and adults, but not...

Ocean front park and pavilion is Beautiful place to visit if you are turning Kure beach and you want to the ocean. The Gazebo is big and the town of Kure Beach host free concert on Sunday afternoon. Parking in Ocean front is free. My dad and I we went to Kure Beach ocean front park and pavilion on Father day even though we arrived at 2:30 PM from Charlotte, we fund a parking spot waiting 5 minutes upon arrival. In Ocean front pavilion they have public restroom very close to the gazebo and 3 minutes away from the ocean. The public restroom floor was very dirty. Its definitely look like the men's restroom wasn't cleaned up in days. I truly wish that the town of Kure Beach would make improvement to the public restroom in the pavilion making sure that its clean will make tourist and local resident greatly...

Of community Parks I have visited over the past decade or so, this one is one of the best things for a tourist community. There are benches galore, modern, clean sanitary facilities, a ampetheter that has programs throughout the week for the children as well as community programs for all ages. The Beach is amazing and there's even a swing for this that are disabled. There isn't a bad seat at Ocean Front Park. There's even waysides on how the park came to fruition by not only the government, but the citizens of the town who bought memorialized gifts for all to enjoyed and resolve what was once a...

Be careful if you park on the street near the park. To pay for parking you have to input a code that is written on the street. Most of the codes are so faded that you can't read them. Most of the directions on how to pay are also faded out. I parked and was looking for a street sign with directions on how to pay and in the short time I was away I got a $65 ticket. A very underhanded way to raise money.

I shouldn't say this, but this is the best little beach. It is possibly (probably is more like it) the best little beach on the east coast. Shh, don't tell anyone. We love a day trip to this place. Since my wife has become severely limited in her mobility she can still enjoy the ocean front on this little gem of a beach. Yep, age happens.

Great venue for anything! Beautiful enough to host a wedding or celebration, casual enough for a concert. We stopped by Sunday for church right on the lawn. Great sound from the Pavillion. Restrooms, playground, shade, recycling (yay), and a very nice set up with swings along the boardwalk facing the ocean. Well done Kure Beach!
