I surprised my husband this past weekend to a surprise anniversary weekend at the Lighthouse and we friggin LOVED it! No issues or negative thoughts whatsoever, 10/10 absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, modern place to stay right on the beach. Allow me to elaborate further....
Location: Within steps to the beach, quiet spot, walking/bike riding distance to all the good things. Couldn't have been better. The breakfast spot beside the pier is super freaking delicious, we went every morning and loved being so close to it.
The Room: For reference, we stayed in the Windswept room. It was super clean! We loved the ease of the keypad entry (no worries, code changes with each visitor so no shenanigans). There was a little welcome gift of snacks, water bottles, and a keepsake bag that came in handy for our beach day. There was even soft music playing on the TV, quite the touch. The beds were comfy, pillows nice and fluffy, throw blankets perfect for becoming a burrito, and again super clean.
The balcony was perfect, lots of space and the best spot for morning and midnight coffee chats watching the waves. The neighbor plays some good tunes too giving some nice background music that isn't crazy loud, pretty relaxing honestly.
I didn't realize that the rooms are adjoining rooms with a door to the other side until we arrived. I have a weird 'I don't wanna be murdered in my sleep' feeling with these so we piled our luggage there lol. We never heard the neighboring room though and no one killed us so all was well. It's not a bad idea for when we come back with our kids to have adjoining rooms so for those who need it, it's there for ya.
My ONLY negative is that the bed frame sticks out further than the mattress. Like a little shelf big enough for your water bottle. I constantly ran into it and have quite the collection of bruises because I apparently can't walk. So just keep an eye out for that when you're there.
Overall, cannot wait to come back whether its just us again or we bring the whole fam. I highlyyyyyyy recommend. So if you're on the fence just book the room, you...
Read moreWOW! We stayed at the Lighthouse last minute this past weekend and the entire stay was luxury and top notch. We booked our stay the day of and Joshua was so easy to work with. He made the registration process extremely easy and there is something nice about being able to go right to your room without having to wait or check in. It was just my wife and I, and we ended up in a double queen on the second floor. Its hard to describe how nice everything felt walking in, because it was more of a feeling. The onsite parking made it easy to pull up and unload, and we ended up walking everywhere after that. We went to Freddie's for dinner and then ended up going to the pier for some popcorn and ice cream. When we got back in the evening, we talked to another family that was getting married the next day in the common area with fire pit. After that, we sat on the front porch right on the ocean and talked for hours. The next day, we woke up to the sunrise (see pic). The bed was so comfortable, we never even had to get out of bed to watch the sun come up over the ocean. We spent a few hours on the front porch again watching the sun come up and the town come to life over a cup of coffee. Even though there was 9 rooms and they were full, it almost felt as if we had the place to ourself. Such an amazing short trip and we will for sure have to make another. Pros: -Registration/check in/check out really easy -Rooms smelled great -Included waters, coffees, and snacks -Beds are luxury, pillows were perfect -Very nice rain shower in the bathroom -Towels were soft -Included a sound machine which was a nice touch! -Climate controlled to your liking -Cool common area -Amenities room with snacks, water, coffee, ice, etc. -Outside shower/rinse off station. -Walk to the beach, to dinner, to the arcade, etc. You could literally park your car at the Lighthouse and not have to drive the entire week -VIEWS Cons: -None, thanks for an...
Read moreWhat a treasure this place is. Right in Kure Beach sits The Lighthouse. This hotel is SO different than your run of the mill hotel. It's far from a Hilton or Marriott. The beds sleep wonderfully, the TV was great, the dishes were spotless, everything you needed was right there at your fingertips, and that goes all the way down to set of binoculars in the room to watch people fish off the pier or dolphin watch. The balcony is about double the size of most hotel balconies, leaving plenty of room to sit out and play cards of just listen to the calming sound of waves crashing on the beach. There is a quaint boardwalk right at the hotel that goes to the beach, or walks down to the hear of Kure Beach where there are great restaurants and the pier to fish off of, play pool and arcade games, or just look at the souvenirs they have.
The attention to detail of the room and cleanliness was outstanding. It felt like we could have just lived there. Every person we ran into at the hotel was friendly, and all of them bragged about how nice their stay was or was going. We will definitely be back. If you are looking for a unique and memorable place to stay,...
