We always stay at By the Pier Motel when visiting Kure Beach, NC. Amy and Woody in the office always make us feel so at home here. Rates are very reasonable for the location. A mini fridge, microwave and coffee pot are in the room. It is a small older motel but the rooms are always extremely clean and there is a public deck to sit out and enjoy the ocean view. There is also a street side covered deck outside the rooms with chairs to enjoy people watching and the sunset. The bathrooms are small but manageable. The rooms all have AC but there is also a little window that faces the ocean opens and allow us to have a nice little breeze during the early spring or late fall when the AC isn't needed and to hear the ocean at night. The beds and pillows are very comfortable. No pets are allowed in the rooms but we prefer that when staying at a hotel even through we are pet owners. The location is perfect. It is right by the fishing pier and a nice little public park with a small playground and several nice two person swings facing the ocean. On certain days of the week fishing is free when staying here. There are also several good restaurants within walking distance and a nearby aquarium. We often stay in one of the king rooms when traveling without children which has a nice high table where we have enjoyed using when getting something to go at the local restaurants and having a nice dinner with a glass of wine in the privacy of our room. It is also very family friendly. We can't imagine staying anywhere else in this area. Thanks Amy and Woody for another great stay at By The Pier Motel. Erica &...
Read moreThis place is an absolute delight. Very clean rooms lead to a pleasant rest. The view of the beach from the rooms is ok but access is phenomenal. You can walk barefoot through a lovely city green that has a playground and event pavilion to the beach. Distance can't be more than 500 feet. You could throw a football from our room's front door and hit no less than 10 restaurants. The pier is very close as is the gift shop. There is also a mini-mart where you can stock up on snack and beach needs. Short drive or bike ride to Fort Fisher and the Aquarium. Amy from the front desk called us to confirm our arrival and let us check in early. She greeted us when we arrived and made us feel like family. We then ran into her working later on at the pier.
This is that quaint ocean-front feeling that is missing in the giant resorts. Good beach spots, good food, no chain-hotel nonsense, and reasonable rates. I would rate this higher than 5 if I could!
Best beach accommodations I have encountered (value and...
Read moreWe stayed here in july of 2013 and i couldnt have personally been happier with our stay. The wifi worked great, the room was cozy for it being at the beach and the water pressure was good lol. As stated you get a mini fridge and a mivrowave. If you are looking for a place thats great to sleep at and spend a little time but mostly be on the beach or on the run, STAY HERE. If you are on vacation at the beach and just want to lay in bed, go to the hampton your wasting a good vacation lol. I'll definitely be staying here again! Very well kept rooms i may add. Others along kure and carolina get lazy with maintenance and house keeping but not here. So book a room, Get a burger at Beach House Burgers, and take a walk on the pier after you grab some ice cream. Then spend some time on the observstion deck. You wont be...
