Kure Keys Motel — Hotel in Kure Beach

Been here for the week AFTER the 4th of July; it's been pretty uneventfull so far, except when the internet/tv provider died on us all, but once fixed, my only complaint is that internet is still painfully slow. Had a lot of dropped VPN connections which made a PITA to complete some pending work. Overall, it's a motel by the sea (50 yards), easy access to the beach. Has a swimming pool with water way too warm (for me). Shower outside by the pool, you rinse the sand off before going in. Always a plus. I am on a EF room, which proved to be the best choice for a family; even though we have my sister in law, making it 5 people, it can accomodate the rolling bed. Kinda cramped but if you are not picky, it will do fine. There are two queen beds in the apt. Bathroom was clean. A tad small, but perfectly ok. You have to "rent the grill" to use it... it's a big grill and if I want to cook a couple burgers, and sausages, I'll pass on: much too trouble. You like to fish ? There is a fish cleaning station but you are asked to throw the waste back at the sea. Fair enough, cuz I don't want that stuff smelling in this scorching heat ! Staff is friendly; I have had no reason to call on them. Room/cleanup service between 11-12;...

The carpet in the room was nasty. The sink stopped up and already had to have maintenance in the first 15 min. It was my bday and I had friends in my room we had take out dinner in my room.. 2 of the girls stayed at moron down the street. Instead of confronting me about how many guests actually slept in my room .. David went ahead and charged my card w/ out my knowledge. For an extra person. Terrible customer service. When I phoned to find out why I was charged, I was pretty much called a liar and told I Couldn’t have that many ppl in my room hanging out when it was my bday and my room was the meeting point and the hang out because it was my bday. It was only $14 more i would have paid that for an extra person .. he saw me ck in w/ one girl and leave w/ another but what he didn’t realize is the girl I cked in w/ stayed in the room down the street.. it’s really petty charging $13 extra w/ out informing me.. I will never use that place again. I guess he doesn’t care about repeat business. He pretty much told me he doesn’t need my business when I told him I will not be using his...

A friend and I stayed for a week at Mother’s Day last year. The maid service was terrible. She only gave us clean towels daily and changed our bed sheets one time the whole 6 days we were there. Then apon leaving the maid told a lie to manager that we tore up the room. (We are ladies in our middle 50s)yet never disclosed the co-called damages and never submitted any charges to my credit card. I was apauled and in disbelief that the staff were liars. A friend of mine returned to Kure keys for a 3 day retreat (on my recommendation) and when she told the office that I recommended Them for a short stay,that’s when I learned of these untrue statements about me. When I learned of these slandering statements I called Kure Keys to find out about these lies that were told to my friend about me,he(manager) refused to speak to me /or explain to me about his comments about me and hung up on me. It does not matter if a establishment/hotel is a 5star or 3star. If you can’t be kind, honest,or trustworthy then you are just a lying place...
