My TLDR assessment of this place is that 1) They need more medical providers at any one given time (I was informed that they had only ONE provider on staff who was clearly overwhelmed by patients and charting) and 2) There needs to be better communication as to whether prescriptions have been sent, and certainly not trying to lie to patients when things go wrong on their end.
I have been here a few times and a couple of months ago, my prescription was written for a medication at ONE TENTH the strength is was supposed to have been. Does not inspire a lot of confidence, and it took a lot of time and trouble to get them to fix the bungled mess for them without so much as an apology for their error.
Today, my child with a very high fever was written an antibiotic, and was âwatchedâ for his fever to go down before we could be discharged. Understandable. In the meanwhile, I was the âsqueaky wheelâ and had to keep âpesteringâ the staff that my prescription needed to be sent over. I very logically wanted him to start the antibiotics ASAP. They were busy (hence my assertion that they need more staff), so they seemed annoyed by my insistence at their sending over the prescription, but Iâve been burned by them before! Finally, after over two hours, we were dischargedâŚand they looked me in the eye, both provider and front desk staff, and told me that YES, the prescription had been sent. I asked for a physical copy of the prescription, just in case, and they refused and insisted it had been sent electronically.
I drive down the street to CVS with my poor, sick child in tow to pick it up. I wait with him in a twelve person line and am told the prescription had NOT in fact been sent! I was infuriated.
So now I am told to call the urgent care, and the man gives me some lame excuse/runaround about how âthe provider is charting and only sends prescriptions after charting.â NO SIR! I was told by HER and YOU that the prescription had been sent. I tried to circumvent this mess by asking for a physical order before leaving the premises, and for reasons unknown to me, you wouldnât help me help you!
I bring this up to himâŚwhy, then, sir, did you refuse to give me a physical vs a digital prescription? He says âOh, most pharmacies donât accept them.â Really, since when? I ask the pharmacy tech: âOh, of course we do; whatâs it for? Amoxicillin? Yes of course we accept physical prescriptions!â I was told by the urgent care receptionist that heâd have to âcheck with the clinical director.â Very poor management/policymaking, if thatâs the case.
Ultimately, I got the medicine, but at the cost of a panic attack in the middle of a crowded pharmacy. So frankly, I am really tired of having to clean up their disastrous errors during times of poor physical health in which I merely want to focus on getting myself and my family better. I will be shopping for a new urgent care that is sufficiently and more competently staffed, if such a thing exists in our hellscape of a...
Read moreFirst visit. Looks clean. Waiting room was empty when I arrived at noon. The NP that my daughter saw was okay. There were a few comments that as a mom I didnât appreciate. My daughter started to cry when she was told by the NP to open her mouth. The NP told her why are you crying? You have nothing to cry about. So I stepped in to mention that she is beyond scared of getting her throat swabbed. Which wasnât happening just a stick was being used but she was still nervous. So the NP said well you have to use your words or I wonât know. Which I understand but there is nothing wrong with my daughter crying. Sheâs very soft spoken and normally wonât speak up for herself. Instead of being calmed she was put on alert by the comments made. I stood up to reassure my daughter she was okay, and to calm her so that she would open her mouth wider. The NP would push against her forehead to get her to lean back a bit. Everything just seemed to harsh and rushed.
A breathing treatment was given. We powered down the machine when it was done. Nurse let us know how to if someone didnât return quickly to check on us. We waited for someone to come back to discharge us. About 5 mins later we just got up to walk to the waiting room. Passed the nurse and nothing was said to us. Lady at front desk asked us to wait to sign discharge. Waited a few more minutes for paperwork.
We left to cvs to pick up prescriptions. At first I was told we could not check to see if medication was ready due to the fact that the urgent care place did not give them the correct basic information. They had the wrong DOB and had stated that my daughter was a male. They also did not accept my insurance. So I gave this place a call to try to get the order corrected with the right information and moved to rite aid.
Nurse wasnât available so I waited at rite aid. About 30 mins later called again. Nurse came on the line and asked what I needed. Not sure how they werenât tracking what was happening. She said she would call me back. Waited a few mins and just decided to go in. It is now 2:00pm and just barely got a hard copy.
Things just seems to not run smoothly here. Not sure what went wrong and how someone would incorrectly input my daughterâs information. We were just there. Incorrectly entering information is a big issue.
It might have just been the people we saw. Iâm sure there are some great doctors here based on the reviews, but I would not come here again. I really contemplated just going to another urgent care to be able to get the...
Read moreRecieved the worst service at this location today, Dr. Kim called me @11am to speak to me about my 7 year old sons xrays that they had did the day before, and that it is indeed a fracture and we need to see our primary. After she told me this I asked if she could send the images to his primary or if it's easier for me to pick them up, she informed me its easier for me to pick them up and would have them up front for me. Let her know I would pick up between 530 and 630.
Arrive at 615 to pick up images and the front office girl can't find them (same girl that was there the day we took the xrays), she proceeds to see if the xray tech is in, he is not (He was a really nice guy). Informs me I would need to come back tomorrow.
Asked if the Dr. Is available, she asks me if I know the Dr's name, tell her I dont. Then proceeds to ask 3 more times like that would help me remember. Informed her our information and conversation should be documented and to check the file. She continues to go on about if the doctor doesn't have them, then what? Let her know let's get through the first step first, then worry about a solution at that point.
Low and behold the same Dr that was there yesterday for the xrays and called me earlier is there . . Tada its magic. The Dr proceeds to tell me that the report is what I had requested. I reiterated our conversation on the phone, at that point the Dr tells me she was confused and didn't know what images I was speaking about when we were talking on the phone.
At this point I walked out, had some choice words (very much deserved) got in my car and left.
I can except if it got busy and it slips your mind, but to lie and say you were confused about what images I was speaking of . . . Then ask for clarification, your a professional, a Doctor. Dont say I'll have them waiting up front for you, then get off the phone and be like what did he want, oh well.
Note - This is not my first time here and the service is usually pretty darn good. My primary is Dr. Siddiq, but that front office girl on the urgent care side is rude and very unprofessional, when I was in the day before could not stay off her phone (instagram or facebook) while she was check us in. Then today with the same question several times made the situation worse. I know its had to find people, must be easier to get patients.
To the other office lady (old) my choice words were not for you, only the Dr and your co worker.
Would give a 1 star, but all the other...
