The Grill House — Restaurant in La Verne

The food is perfect and made fresh; and is worth waiting for. From the labneh to the salad dressing, layers of flavor.

Yesterday we had an exceptional experience at The Grill House. We were hosting a party of 11 for lunch, on a Saturday. We would not have much time. The day prior I called and spoke with Adam, who guided me on what time to arrive before the group, so the dishes were hot and served at the right time.

When I arrived on the day of the event, George had the table ready. I had each persons order, and numbered each “party” 1-4. George created 4 orders, so that 4 separate bills would be given at the end to make everything smooth. 4 is the maximum amount of separate orders and bills they can accommodate. So I grouped more people onto my bill.

As the hot food started coming out (right on time) he would say “where does order #1 go” and because I had my own paper I simply pointed.

George and the staff were so very attentive and kind. We all commented on the experience. It went so smooth. They went above and beyond to work with our requests.

Some entree that were ordered included shawarma, spicy beef, lentil soup..everything was excellent.

This was my second time at this place. Both times the food was awesome! I picked to sit outside/patio area where they have a bunch of TV's. I had the spicy dish (i forgot what it was called) with beef and I gotta say it is delicious and I am for sure coming back. First time I tried medium, but i wanted a bit more kick so I told them spicy the second time around. I am not sure if the chef/cook this time around accidentally made it extra spicy but man was it spicy. Next time I go, I will order spicy again and hope that it's not as bad. They have another level called Fire. I will not be trying the fire because I was barely able to handle the spicy. I thought that they accidentally made mine fire instead of spicy, but I won't know till I go back again.

Would recommend this place for the good food. If you like smoking hookah they also have that so that would be a plus if you're into...

The worse restaurant ever. There were only 8 of us, a nice size but not huge, and the waitress was nice. The food was OK. The problem was we waited over 2 1/2 hours for our dinner. At some point the owner came over and apologized for the wait. And it was still another half hour before we were served. I was last to be served, at almost 3 hours. I only had a steak sandwich. It was good but by then it was 9:30 and I was starving. They could have brought us a salad or something! There was no food comp, nothing to say I'm sorry except a lame apology from the owner. Funny thing, I had some string cheese in my pocket that I shared with my sister in law and wife. Only a little package but we were so hungry it tasted so good! I will never eat there again and will advise anyone I know or see on the street to steer clear of this house pretending to be a restaurant. They never told us...
