I set up an appointment for a demo day for December 28, 2022 to hit PING golf clubs at the Sarasota Golf Training Center, The Villages, Florida. Wanted to hit the clubs outside instead of into a net. Got the name of this facility from the PING website. Found the right club and decided to make a purchase that day, December 28. PING sets the price on all its clubs, so the price is the same at any authorized seller of PING products. Ordered the clubs from Sarasota Golf Training Center as they are an authorized distributer for PING golf clubs. I put the purchase on a credit card that day. The clubs were to be delivered to my home 40 miles away by FedEX by PING when they were assembled in Arizona. On January 18, 2023, PING had a price drop on the clubs I ordered which would save me $250. On January 19, 2023, I called Sarasota Golf Center and spoke with Joe a manager. I asked if I would get the discounted price since the clubs had not been been shipped to me nor had they left the PING facility in Arizona. I was told by Joe that I would not get the reduced price nor would I be able to cancel my order. Joe said that Sarasota Golf Center had already paid for the clubs and that they were supposed to be shipped to me by PING in the next several days. I believe that Sarasota Golf Center has not paid for the clubs since they have not been shipped and that they are trying to make an extra profit on the clubs in the amount of $250 at my expense. I will never shop at Sarasota Golf Center again and believe that they kept an extra profit from the reduced price by PING. If I went into their store that morning and purchased the clubs, I could have saved $250. Not great customer service on their part and not good for repeat business. I would have been happy to accept a store credit for the difference but none...
Read moreSarasota is water range. You can get there by golf cart. There is a short walk from the car parking area to the practice range. There are bathrooms and handicap parking. Balls are dispensed by a coin or card activated machine. There is personnel on site for any help you may need. Men need a collared shirt. I'm not sure about women. Balls are hit off the ground certain days and off the mats on other days. I know Saturday is off the ground and Sunday is off the mats. You can call to find out what your hitting off of for the day you want to go. Across the street there is a practice area for bunker shots, putting and chipping. There is golf cart and automobile parking in this...
Read moreCan't see how this facility rates more than one star. The staff are friendly but the condition of the range is abysmal. In the last two weeks have been there three times. Each time the mats were not being used only turf, or a better description would be the divot area. Seriously, there is minimal turf, only huge divots or depressions, a condition so bad you can't hit a ball without a tee, which I don't use as I go to practice with irons only. Don't know who is in charge but they need to have golfers back on the mats for...
