Bon Temps Grill continues to capture the essential soul of Cajun and Creole culture through the undeniable pride they take in their food. This place isn't just a restaurant; it's an experience that celebrates the rich culinary traditions of Louisiana.
On my recent visit, I indulged in two true classics: the gumbo and the red beans and rice. The gumbo was rich and flavorful, with just the right amount of spice, though it leaned a bit on the salty side. However, when paired with their delicious potato salad, the balance was spot-on. The red beans and rice were cooked to a creamy consistency, hearty and satisfying—though I must admit, a half or lunch portion would have been more than enough for the average appetite. There's no finishing this dish unless you're absolutely ravenous!
The vibe at Bon Temps Grill is nothing short of amazing. The lively atmosphere, complete with live music, adds to the authentic Southern experience. It’s the kind of place where you can feel the rhythm of Louisiana in every note and every bite. The ambiance is warm and inviting, making it perfect for both casual dining and special occasions.
And let me not forget the garlic bread—crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and almost too tempting to resist. It’s the perfect complement to the meal, making the experience all the more enjoyable.
To top it all off, the service is exemplary. The staff is attentive, friendly, and genuinely committed to ensuring that every guest has a memorable experience. Their hospitality is as much a part of the meal as the food itself.
Bon Temps Grill remains a must-visit for anyone looking to savor the authentic tastes of Louisiana. The food, the vibe, the music, and the service—all come together to create an experience that’s five stars,...
Read moreWe had a reservation for 7:30pm. Arrived and were seated 5min early - closest to the front door. (See and remember; a couple with three kids arrived and were seated about 10min after us.) Our waitress took/delivered our drinks and took our orders.
Roughly an hour passed when we flagged our waitress asking if our dinner was close to being delivered. She said she would check but then proceeded to make eye contact with and avoid our table at all costs. A few minutes later, another lady came to our table and tried explaining that a large number of customers had come in and they were working to catch up orders. (Again, we were seated closest to the front doors and minimal customers arrived after us.)
It became obvious there was not a back up in orders when the family with three kids who had arrived after us proceeded to be leaving and we still had no food.
An hour and 20 minutes after having our orders taken, they were set in front of us. All four meals were cold. My own plate did not even have the side of fries on it. They completely forgot about the appetizer I had ordered as well. When I addressed this to the waitress, she simply nodded her head and walked away.
At that point we were all starving and frustrated so I asked to speak to the manager. When he came to speak to us, it was almost with a condescending attitude, telling us 'Ohh, that sucks.. Ohh, wow, I can't believe that happened.' He then had the nerve to offer comping our cold meals but still be able to eat them. When turning that down, he then gave us a card for a free appetizer.. Why would we want to come back after this?
Maybe it was just an issue with management and staff that night, but it was absolutely one of the worst restaurant experiences I have ever...
Read moreWe arrived at 4:55pm, was seated in a not very busy environment. Our waitress after several minutes took our drink order and then disappeared. We looked around to see if she was going to return to now take our order. (I was wondering if she went on break). We finally ordered with very slim items to choose from for the Gluetin free selection. Our order arrived at 5:40m Ahi Tuna which had to be sent back because it was not fully cooked, plain dry rice. My wife ordered Redfish and asked for tarter sauce which they said they did not have or have ever had? What restaurant sells fish and doesn't provide tarter sauce as an option?
I sent the Ahi Tuna back to be cooked and had to get up from my table and physically look for a manager to re-cook it. Where was my waitress to check on our food? Who knows......maybe another break? She only had one table - ours!
The manager offered to bring me some gumbo for the trouble. It was really good.
It was now 5:55, almost one hour before I was able to finally eat. I complained about the bad service, waitress who went MIA and explained everything that happened.
The General Manager agreed to make me happy so he did comp the entire menu.
Would I recommend eating here? well....I would say to come when its not busy but that idea is out now. This place is not on my recommended list. The Ahi Tuna ended up being very dry with little flavor to it. Rice was just rice, dry and lumpy. Side potato salad was good. Caesar salad was good. Redfish could have been better with some help on the side (tarter sauce).
Would I recommend...
