Not a pleasant visit.We had a 6:30PM reservation and was greeted by a hyperactive, fast talking waitress. She seated us and left us to look over the menu. She came back with water for us and took our drink orders. She disappeared for a while and finally returned with the alcohol drinks. She completely forgot about my ice tea order. I eventually received my ice tea. We discussed the menu items with her and placed an order for an appetizer. When she brought the appetizer she took our order. I was unable to find salad on the menu and assumed it was part of the entree. She was running all over the restaurant like a crazy person. She came to us to tell us our entree's were almost ready. We questioned: were we to get a salad. She told us we didn't order any. She offered to take a salad order, however our food was ready to come out. We ordered a salad and it came out the same time the entree's came out. We didn't eat the salad and took them home. This whole experience was un-settling. The whole meal was very chaotic. I have to say the veal parmesan was the worse I ever had. The cheese was burnt and veal tough, and the sauce had a funny taste. I will not darken their door ever again and don't...
Read moreLocals know the calibre of this fantastic cafe and its roots in the Acadiana lineage. Nestled in the downtown area, Cafe Bella is a must-eat for anyone seeing authentic, interior Italian cuisine. You can absolutely do no wrong via any choices on the menu. This is one of the very few places I've ever reviewed which can substantiate such a claim. Try for yourself. You'll keep coming back for more!
The owner, Jack, is a charismatic, outgoing, fun-loving gentleman whom is a friend to all and excellent conversationalist.
Excellent bar staff. They know their pours and ratios. Not a bad drink in the house. It's a popular attorney hang-out, so you're always in good company. If you catch the timing right, you might just get to sample Jack's world-renowned Limoncello, which rivals any top-tier Limoncello you'd find in Europe- definitely top 3 I've tasted worldwide.
Superb all-around. Definitely an A++...
Read moreWe enjoyed our food and experience at Cafe Bella. It was our first time here and when we walked in, it seemed warm and inviting. The wait staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was good with a little Cajun spice flare, which set it apart from most Italian restaurants. The only disappointment came when I was told they were out of the Spaghetti Vongole after I ordered it and had to order lasagna instead, which turned out to be delicious. Also, no salad comes with the meal and when asked if there was a dinner salad, the waitress said, “oh yes,” but she didn’t say it was the actual full salad on the menu and we would be charged full price for it. The Caesar salad had a horseradish taste and the croutons had a kick to them. Other than that,...
